I was almost trembling in my chair with nerves. Tornado had called in his two partners, Frequency and Axe. They were known as the SBI. No one really knew what it meant, seeing as the heroes had named themselves that but had never told anyone what it meant.

Frequency walked in before Axe and sat on the corner of the desk, looking at me with a searching gaze. Axe just silently walked behind the desk and leaned up against the wall, staring at me with a cold glare.

I gulped nervously, and looked down at my bouncing knee. The room was quiet, but it wasn't an awkward quiet, it was 10 times worse. It was a tense quiet. Like there was a lightning storm brewing, and you could feel the electricity in the air.

Surprisingly, Axe was the one who broke the silence. I knew that he didn't really like to talk, preferred to stab the people he captured as to avoid talking to them or answering questions.

"What's your name, kid?" he asked in a deep monotone voice. I shifted my gaze over to him, scanning his outfit. He was wearing a white button up, much like mine, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, showcasing this arms. He wore black jeans with thigh high leather boots that you had to lace up. His pink hair was up in a tight, high ponytail, and he was wearing a simple pig mask that was colored black. His red eyes bore into me as I answered his question.

"Thomas Simmons, but I prefer Tommy." I said, biting down the nerves that I felt. Techno nodded in understanding, and the room was casted into a awkward silence. At least, it felt awkward to me. The three heroes were just studying me, their eyes scanning over me like I was hiding something. Which, I was, but I wasn't about to tell them that.

"What's so special about him?" Frequency asked suddenly, turning towards Tornado. The blonde avian just smiled, and looked at me while talking.

"Well, Tommy here is 19 years old, much younger than any other application we got. He lives and is currently working in District 7, and he seems like the person who just wants to help." He said simply. His words hung in the air, and I was nervous that the other two were going to disagree with him.

Axe sighed, before lifting himself off of the wall. He started walking towards the doorway, and we just watched him. He opened the door, but before he closed it, he looked at me over the shoulder, and smirked.

"If you get the job, go to the training area on your first day, 1pm. If you're late, you're going to regret it." He stated simply, before walking out and closing the door. I gulped nervously and turned back around in my chair to catch Tornado and Frequency giving each other matching grins.

My palms started to sweat, and my leg started to bounce in nerves as well. I really hoped that they would hire me, but Tornado said it himself. I was much younger than the other applications, which means I have less experience in this. It wasn't looking good for me at this point.

They turned towards me, neither of their grins fading. I looked at both of them, waiting for the worst. But what they said instead just shocked me.

"You start on Monday, 8am. Don't be late." Frequency said, getting up and walking out of the office, the smirk never leaving his features. I just sat there in shock. I had actually gotten the job. What. The. Fuck.

When the shock had finally gone away, and the information finally kicked in, I grinned so big, and had to refrain from jumping up in excitement. Tornado smiled back at me, before getting standing up. I followed suit, and he started to walk towards the door, his wings jostling behind him.

I followed him out and we walked down the hallway. The guy from before who was taking people back looked up from his computer and grinned when he saw his boss and I walked out. We continued to walk down the hallways, and I was kind of confused. Until he stopped in the doorway leading to the lobby.

I peered over his shoulder and saw that there was still around 15-20 people still sitting there, hoping for an interview. I suddenly felt bad about getting the job and backed-up so that they wouldn't see me.

"I thank you all for coming, but the position has now been filled. You may all go home now." Tornado announced. I glanced over his shoulder again to see angry glares targeting him. Some people started to see me, and their glares then redirected to me, but nonetheless, they all started to pack up and get out of the building.

Tornado turned towards me and smiled. I gave him a  small smile back, and shouldered my bag that I had been carrying before I got there. He held out his hand in silence, and I shook it, gripping it stiffly. He gave me a nod and a small smile, before walking away. I sighed, before walking towards the elevator.

I pressed the button and waited for a minute. Two others came up beside me, both glaring and whispering to each other. I stared straight ahead. They were just jealous that I got the job and they didn't... yeah, that's what's happening. They're jealous!

The elevator dinged and opened. We walked inside and one of the males pressed floor number one. I began tapping my finger against my leg, not in nerves, but just pure boredom. This elevator takes so long. Everyone in that elevator just stayed in their thoughts, not a word being spoken. Though I could feel an underlying tension between everyone here. It set my adrenaline pumping and my nerves on edge.

I had a feeling they were going to do something, but innocent until proven guilty. We walked out of the elevator and out of the front doors. I quickened my pace towards District 7, not really wanting to run but wanting to get away from those guys.

I heard footsteps behind me and glanced back to see that they both were following me, matching smirks upon their faces. I scoffed, before speeding up. Maybe they just live in my direction as well.

We got to the corner and the men were almost right next to me. I turned sharply and wasn't watching where I was going. I ran straight into a mailbox. I huffed in pain, but I couldn't really recover before my hands were grabbed and put behind my back and I was dragged into a nearby alleyway.

The two men from before chucked me into the wall, causing a crack to resound through my chest and pain to blossom in the area. I breathed heavily, not letting the tears that threatened to spill. I glared up at the other two, before I realized what one of them had.

The one standing on the left, the one who didn't grab my wrists, was holding a metal crowbar in his hands, twirling it around thoughtfully.

"It's a pity that parents don't discipline their kids anymore. This one could use it, what do you say Fin?" The guy with a crowbar said. The other snickered at his words, but nodded nonetheless.

"I think you're right, Landon. This kid needs to learn how to respect his higher ups. And that starts with by not taking a job that he doesn't deserve." he said. I glanced from one to another, but I saw confusion in their eyes. It might have been because instead of feeling fear like they were wanting, I was feeling something completely different. Something that made me dangerous.

I was angry... and they were about to know that.
