I DECIDED TO MAKE PAPER RINGS or maybe paper cranes for this art project. god, how many art projects are we going to have for the entirety of this book? if it's because being artistic is my only ability, that's just sad. i'm decent in most of the projects required for us to do when it comes to art. although painting and drawing are my main mediums, i can make origamis, though only a few patterns.

paper cranes, paper planes, paper rings- i could do all of those easily. it was a project back in 5th grade and after recieving a lot of praise from my classmates, i decided to master the talent i discovered i had. folding papers to turn them into objects sounds pretty entertaining so i was very excited for this one.

i settled on paper rings since valentines was almost near, i was planning on giving my classmates a bunch of paper rings and a paper crane to go with it. i should probably gift them all chocolates instead but i don't think i had enough money for all of them. oh well, maybe i'll repay them back on white day.

the teacher left us alone to do our project and i grabbed a bunch of scrap paper to practice and make sure i still got the skills. thankfully, i do and i smiled at the sight of the decently folded paper crane. okay, time for the ring!

"germanium is a chemical element with the symbol ge and atomic number 32..." i tuned out my chemistry teacher and doodled random things at the corner of my notebook, paying no mind to whatever the teacher was saying. the element germanium sounds funny, though.

dozing in and out of the lesson, i learned that it's pretty rare to find and that it's worth probably an arm to get even a gram of the metal. that's strange, though. i'm sure mom has a bunch of jewelry that has germanium (don't ask how i knew the element. she blabbers about a lot of things and the mention of what her jewelry was made just so happened to be stored in my memory).

should i gift kusuo something for valentines other than a paper crane and ring? i subconsciously bit the bottom of my pen while i thought about it. well, an origami for a valentines gift sounds simple but something with effort- like chocolate and such- sounds like too much. i want it to be an average gift that a friend would give you. scratching my head in slight frustration and wrote down ideas on what i could give.

i could just give it tomorrow, i thought, now settled on gifting him a ring as a gift. i'll just casually hand it over! yeah, that sounds like a plan!
