"Where were you?" Dean quizzes as the Gryffindor common room fills up, Brooklyn was currently sat up on the couch, legs curled up under a knitted blanket that her foster mum had made for so she didn't have to feel home sick. She placed down the herbology book that was in her possession as her eyes met Dean's confused ones.
"When McGonagall made an announcement I knew it wasn't something I'd want to attend" Brooklyn admits immediately as she shifts so that she's crossing her legs instead, making room for Dean to sit down with him.
"Funny how you always get the right gut feeling" Dean comments shortly, before he decides to explain what happened to her. "There's going to be a ball apparently, everyone has gone mad trying to figure out who to ask to it"
Brooklyn instantly had a small tick of a smile, "I'm sure this will be amusing for me" She glances at her book that lay on her lap, absorbing Dean's expressions. "So, anybody on your mind for this..dance?"
Dean immediately rolls his eyes as he rests his long arm of the back of the sofa. "As if, no, I'll probably just go with Seanmus" Brooklyn grins at that, her hair lightly turning an orange shade, this makes Dean turn concerned. "I don't think I've ever seen that colour before, what does it mean"
Brooklyn sends him a teasing look just as more people begin to flood into the common room, Ron and Harry being the first, chatting away about Cho Chang and how Harry could approach her about the ball.
Seanmus and Neville walk in together, Neville nodding along to whatever Seanmus was speaking about erratically. At one glance at Brooklyn's hair, Neville raises his eyebrow as he takes a seat on the sofa's arm next to Brooklyn. "What have you tweaked now?" He questions the orange hair, resting his hand behind Brooklyn's head as Brooklyn leans back to see him. "If you've done something to our common room, please tell me now"
"It's nothing, I'll tell you later" Brooklyn grins at him mischievously as Seanmus takes a clueless seat next to Dean, who wore the same expression. "Don't worry yourselves out too much boys, you won't get it for a while" Brooklyn explains shortly to her boys, patting Dean's face pathetically as if she was cooing at a child. "What else did I miss?"
"Just McGonagall giving Ron the dance of his life" Seanmus cheekily smiles, reliving the memory in his mind.
"What? I can't believe I missed it.." Brooklyn sulks slightly, Neville quickly begins to brush her curls lightly as he smiles down lightly at her. "So did you all take a spin with Minnie or did you dance with each other?"
"Neville danced a little with Ginny Weasley, we kinda just danced with each other" Dean chimes in his usual polite tone, Brooklyn nods slightly as she glances over to where Rosie and Ginny were sat together chatting away.
"That sounds nice, one of you will have to teach me how to dance before we attend the ball" Brooklyn states as she begins to pick up her book and continued on from where she was at already, Neville reads over her shoulder as Dean and Seanmus glance at each other as they take in their friends natural ways. "Have you heard of this one?" She asks Neville as she points out some weird vine looking plant.
"Yeah, you can find them in the muggles Amazon forrest" Neville grins as he continues to brush her hair gently, "Or surprisingly in some lakes, but they're differently evolved due to their surrounding, they tend to stick to warmer environments though"
"Interesting" Brooklyn nodded as she slowly pieced it together, "So more towards warm waters as well-or just warm environments?"
"Warm waters" Neville nods, and Brooklyn smiles lightly before turning back to her reading.
