Things had settled down as the attention was shifted back to the Tri-Wizard cup, which Brooklyn still completely despised the idea and creation of.
Harry had been chosen for the Tri-Wizard cup, which ultimately lead to a huge Gryffindor party in the common room, even though he didn't want one, Brooklyn sat in the corner on a sofa with Neville, her legs draped across his lap as he there calmly with one hand holding his book and the other resting over her legs.
"You're not...uh....joining in?" Harry mumbled as he randomly appeared beside them, and Brooklyn looked up as Neville didn't snap his attention away from his book, anxious to discover more.
"What's the point? You don't want the party, you didn't put your name in...so why have a party for you?" Brooklyn asked back, raising an eyebrow at the boy who took a moment to look at her as if he was in shock that she understood how he felt, before he nodded and suddenly disappeared into the growing crowd again.
"Did Harry say something?" Neville questioned Brooklyn as he realised their friend had been there, his hand started to unconsciously rub Brooklyn's leg.
"Just asking why we weren't taking part in this...thing" she gestured to the party with one of her hands as she leaned back again and closed her eyes quickly, trying to hide the pounding of the room.
"Did you tell him we believe him?" Neville quickly quizzed, suddenly more aware.
"Yeah, he knows that we agree with him" Brooklyn nods with her eyes still shut, and Neville glanced over her relaxed features once more before he nods to himself and turns back to his book quickly.
On the other side of the room, stood Dean and Seamus together, Seamus chatting lively as Dean occasionally took sips from his drinks and nodded along to show he was listening.
"You think they're not together? Really?" Seamus suddenly says, cutting into his own speech about the origins of quidditch world cups and Dean turns to look where he's looking and tilts his head slightly in confusion.
"They're just friends" Dean dismisses Seamus's observation of their friends who were sat off together on one of the main couches, "they could be more, but if they were, they would tell us"
"They just always seem so...close, ya know?" Seamus gestured towards the pair that sat/lay down together on the sofa, ignoring everything around them, he thrusted his hands towards them as if it would suddenly help Dean understand what he could see.
"They would tell us" Dean finished off quickly, he knew that if anything ever sparked between their friends that they would be the first ones to find out. They had always been close and a relationship wasn't going to stop them from being so.
"I guess so" Seamus finally agreed, before he poked his finger at Dean slightly. "But somethin definitely will happen" He announced, and Dean nodded sharply to show that he agreed with that statement, they were meant for each other at this point.
"I wonder if Dean and Seamus will ever just...kiss the tension away" Brooklyn said suddenly, making Neville flabbergasted as he flinched to look at her with red cheeks, utterly confused by her statement that it had made him look away from his book.
"What?"
"Just saying, they both have a lot of chemistry between them both" Brooklyn says nonchalant, "they'll probably end up in some weird and tense moment and then finally snog each other out of passion"
Neville covered his mouth for a moment with his cheeks still red, before he cleared his throat. "You shouldn't be wanting our friends together, it's not right"
Brooklyn sighed dramatically, "well what else am I supposed to do in this place?" She flapped her arms around slightly, Neville shaking his head at her as he rested his hand back on her leg once again and turned back to his book. "We really should go bed soon, they're only drinking more and more..."
Ship names? This can be for any of the Wizarding World fanfics I have written x
