Ranking SDs based on importance to the plot

To clarify this IS NOT a ranking of how much I like them lol just how much they impact the plot, and pretty much all of them do a bit by being Star Darlings and going on wish missions.

From least important to most important!

Also SPOILERS if you haven't read books 

12. Clover

No hate to Clover, but out of all the SDs, she isn't really tied to major plot lines at all. Her wish mission is shoehorned between Adora's (which reveals something pretty epic and interesting) and Gemma's which is the big finale. Her wish mission by itself isn't much. Her book is also the start of Lady Cordial replacing Lady Stella and brainwashing everyone, and gives more looks into the Wish Energy crisis that's (barely) effecting Starland but that's kinda it. 

11. Libby

Like Clover, Libby's wish mission is shoehorned between Sage's which kickstarts everything and Leona's which starts off a major plotline on Scarlet being removed from the team. On it's own, her wish mission doesn't impact much on a larger scale and Libby herself doesn't really play into larger plots.

10. Gemma

Gemma's wish mission is the big finale so you'd think she'd be of more importance, but nah. While she does end up granting a bad wish and Rancora finally does something other than sabotages, Gemma herself really just serves as a comic relief and impacts next to nothing until she goes to Wishworld.

9. Tessa 

Tessa flip-flopped between Adora, but I think she goes to this spot. While Tessa's book does go into the wish energy crisis's (minor) effect on Starland, and reveals more about the relationship of wishlings and starlings, and is the one who thinks Lady Stella isn't actually bad like the rest, that's pretty all she brings to the plot. 

8. Adora

Tbh Adora gets this spot since her wish mission involves her revealing herself to her wisher and the revelation that wish orbs can be switched. And yes that's all I can think of lol. 

7. Astra

This one was difficult, but this spot goes to her since she gets involved with Piper and gets rid of the annoying nail polish changing everyone in weird ways.

6. Leona

I was debating whether to put Vega, Piper, and Cassie in this spot but then decided Leona since she's involved with a major plotline including her wish pendant being ruined, Ophelia, and Scarlet disappearing.

5. Cassie

Almost gave this spot to Vega. Cassie gets this spot since she's close with Sage, and helps investigate things as well as the wish energy crisis and whether Lady Stella be bad.

4. Vega

I feel like Vega and Piper's placements here are interchangeable. Vega is the main investigator so I feel if she wasn't there a lot of things wouldn't be figured out, or at least not soon enough.

3. Piper

Piper gets visions in the form of dreams that tend to reveal interesting plot stuff so that's mostly why she gets this spot. Again interchangeable with Vega.

2. Scarlet 

She gets kicked off from the Star Darlings and is the subject of a major plotline on that, which is a majority of the reason why she's here on the list.

1. Sage

Honestly cuz her wish mission kickstarts nearly everything after, the subject of most of the exposition, and her mom is helping Lady Stella with the wish missions. Excluding all that she's like on a middle-level in terms of plot importance, but since without her wish mission a lot of the plotlines would be somewhat different so yeah lol
