Chapter 7: Council Meeting!

It has been a long week and true to Hiruzen words the council has eventually caught up on the incident of the scroll of sealing although the situation was orchestrated by Hiruzen who had let some of his ANBU disguise themselves as regular civilians and spread it out to the public.

At the end of the week everyone already knew the story that was fabricated and Hiruzen along with Naruto and the Strauss were in the spotlight being showered praises for their achievements that saved their village from what could have been a 4th Shinobi world war but right now the council wanted to confirm the rumors that circulated around with the genuine article.

Which is why Naruto could be seen sitting on the seat that belonged to the Uzumaki clan while Mirajane sat on a much smaller chair next to him. "Are you prepared, Naruto-kun?" asked Hiruzen as he looked at the blonde who gave a nod.

"Yeah, I'm ready for anything they have to throw at me, old man." said Naruto with a smirk, he had obviously abused the shadow clone to go through Konoha law book along with learning politics and the economics of Konoha. He was confident in his ability to tackle anything that he could face although experience will play a major role in this meeting.

A knock could be heard as everyone steeled their expression. Hiruzen then coughed in his hand "Come in!" Said Hiruzen as the door to the council chamber opened revealing the council who poured in by masses as each took their respective seat.

"Why is the Kyu–" one civilian who noticed Naruto was going to comment when he was silenced by a killer intent from Hiruzen that shut the civilian merchant up. Although it was late as everyone looked at Naruto and Mirajane with confusion and some with visible anger and hate.

Naruto was not fazed by the many reactions he received as he kept a cold and calculating expression that put off some of those who noticed it. "I would like to ask the same?" asked Shikaku, who looked at Naruto not with malice but curiosity.

Hiruzen seeing the confusion decided to explain "Naruto-kun is the heir of the Uzumaki clan as such he has a seat among the Shinobi council which I deemed him ready to take..." Said Hiruzen as he looked at the many shocked clan head who then quickly calmed down although some of the civilian turned angry and were about to protest but were then exposed to a wave of KI that froze them in their seat "...I didn't finish, I also believe this meeting has something to do with Naruto-kun as such he is here by my request." said Hiruzen as the clan head nodded seeing no problem with Naruto and Mirajane presence while the civilian had begrudgingly accepted.

Danzo on the other hand had kept a calm exterior, his face was practically blank but on the inside he was seething "Hiruzen you damn fool, giving Konoha's weapon a seat of power among the council! The blasted Jinchuriki should have been given to me instead so I can mold it to fight for Konoha." Thought Danzo angrily.

Koharu and Homura were giving a nod of approval towards Hiruzen seeing their own opinion changing slowly at seeing their old friend gaining backbone to fight against those rabid dogs.

Inoichi Yamanka rose up from his seat "I'm pretty sure everyone here wants to confirm the 'rumors' that have been circulating around Konoha for the past week." said Inoichi as everyone gave a nod while Hiruzen had expected that much.
