~ Howie's P.O.V ~
She had my powers. How did she have my powers, I couldn't work it out and staring at the walls of my cell— room, just didn't seem to be helping... Ugh! What would Lexi say. Knowing what she was always like, she'd probably have some sarcastic comment about the serum. And she would probably also try to kill me for what I did to Melody. Mags will understand, she'll have to when I get that reactor. When I finally beat the person that stole my fathers blueprints. If I could set the perfect trap...The guards from the hall way suddenly fell, clawing at their throats. I sat up swiftly and ran to the glass wall of my cell. Iron Woman stood at the end of the hallway, at least I think it was her. She had her hair up and it the dull light of the hallway. She stalked over to the guards who seemed to be unable to stand or move suddenly, her hand reached out and through the glow of her arc reactor I watched her as she lifted a guard from the ground slightly and brought him close to her face.
" Where is James Stark." The guard stutter and looked around in fear. She dropped him suddenly, and turned her head to the other one who crawled backwards trying to reach for his radio. Smoke started to come from it and it exploded into tiny pieces, the guard grabbed his hand in pain with a grunt. She took another step forwards before I found myself banging against the glass, her face turned to me and my hands faltered.
She...she looked like Mom, but how? Lexi was dead, they had her in a tube and the only way to wake her back up was that reactor. And Iron Woman had the audacity to come here and act like she was all high and mighty, she stole tech that could save my sisters life. I didn't really care much if she got hurt to save my sisters life.
" You said you could protect them, how about saving them?" She looked at me, and I tried to ignore how familiar she looked. Her face dropped slightly, and her hands reached for the glass before her voice softened. I didn't hear what she muttered before she spoke up.
" James... your mother and sister are both alive and well, but I need you to come with me before the realise they lost me on cams" my chest swelled for a moment, before I though back to the image of Alexis, pale and bloody her chest with a gaping hole with wires coming out of it. Without her... Shield wouldn't have been able to help her.
" You're lying, I saw her. There's no way you could help her she needs a reactor!" The glass headed up where my hands sat and I could feel the anger overtaking me. Her hands flew back from the glass and she looked heartbroken. Footsteps sounded from the end of the hall way and her head flung to that side.
I could see her mutter a variety of curse words before rushing to my door and grabbing the metal hinges her eyes gave off a familiar red glow. And my cell started to heat up slightly and I backed away from the glass, there was a loud bang and she flew sideways, sliding slightly along the ground I watched as she brought rocks up to catches her feet and came to a stop. I hadn't actually thought to do that before... all I could see was the faint glow of her reactor before a gust of fire came rushing down the hall and I heard agents scream and I flinched slightly.
I watched as she rushed past in the aftermath and seemed to disappear in the darkness. The agents she left behind could barely make noise in her absence, my door swung open and there stood Leah. I knew immediately what she wanted me to do, and I tried to focus in on the heat signals around the building. My head snapped to one direction as a signature stopped moving, right where the security room was.
I rushed in that direction and felt the building shift the the force of an explosion, and blur moved past me and knocked me over as what I'm assuming is Melody ran down the hall. I continued on my path trying to get to the top level of the building, I watched as a multitude of heat signatures entered the building. Splitting off in all directions, fear overtook me as I recognised that two of these signatures... only had one arm. They sent the soldiers after the base, does that mean that the Avengers were alive? That seems highly improbable.
The ground underneath me shook again and I finally saw the sign, level 6. I could hear the footsteps of one of the soldiers coming up the stairs, and when I turned behind me my stomach dropped. The winter soldier was running straight towards me, I may be about to die...
The soldier somehow ran straight past me and into the security room I had been headed towards. I followed after, he was not going to save her before I could get that Arc reactor. I stopped at the door and listened in when I notice the soldier had grabbed her.
" Rosie... what the hell do you think you're doing? You could have gotten yourself killed, if you really believe that guy is James, then we'll work it out together. Just... don't do anything stupid" confusion passed through me. She obviously wasn't Lexi, cause she couldn't stand people calling her by her middle name, but something about how he said my name... like even saying it would hurt. How did this lady know me... and who the hell was she?
The wall beside me exploded and the three of us were thrown to the ground. I stood back up in a hast, my ears ringing and everything suddenly felt familiar, the way the lady was sprawled out, groaning in pain. Me standing slightly in front of her, rubble surrounding us. It was like history was repeating itself, and I wasn't going to lose Lexi a second time.
My head slowly turned to her and I started wading through the rubble, a light appeared beside me and my sight blurred as a beam of light hit my rib cage, a fiery pain pulsed through me and as my vision returned I could see Melody, stood next to my father. Maybe the Avengers being alive wasn't completely improbable...
Iron woman stood up, and through the harsh sunlight that had entered the building I saw her frantically look around and lights began to turn on. whilst Fathers suit... turned off, just like I had planned for her suit to do. She looked down at the unconscious man beside her and turned her head to Melody, and I saw my chance. I flung rock after rock in her direction, watching as they pushed her closer and closer the the edge of the building... she stumbled slightly over rubble and as she tried to regain her strength.
I grabbed hold of her reactor, watching as her face contorted in agony. My thoughts were going haywire... her hair changes as the sun went down and I could finally see why she had been so desperate to help me.
" Lexi?"
