The study group has just about taken over the shared living and dining room area of the apartment, each piece of furniture is littered with index cards, highlighters and review material.

This many people in one space makes me quiet down more then I already do. But for London's sake I try to put on a brave face and manage conversation. Sitting around the round dining room table is me, Dabria, London, Morana, and two more of London's friends from Lit, Amias and Rowan.

While they as a group discuss subjects that could be coming up in the exam, I quietly observe. I take in the information of course but I try not to interrupt the studious flow going around the table.

"So Aimon, how come this is only the first time I met you before? I had no idea we had the same Lit," Amias asks me directly. Amias is the kind of guy everyone's focus naturally gravitates towards, you'd think he'd want to be an actor or model with the attention he commands but no, he decides instead to study the classical works of Shakespeare.

"I just don't go out much." I respond. I can feel the table looking at me as I speak, this is the most some of them have ever interacted with me.

The study group quickly dissolves and becomes more a hang out then anything else. The table flows in and out of conversation like a boat bobbing through the waves. And in each one I find I have no place in them.

After a small while they begin to talk about books by Donna Tartt and arguing wether or not her most recent book, and my favorite book, came out in the 90s or more recently in the more recent years.

"No I could have  sworn that book came out last year Amias, I had never even heard of it beforehand other than the small amount of times Aimon would ramble on about it," London argued.

"I'm telling you London it came out in. the. 90s," he argues back.

"If you're talking about The Secret History then it was published in September of 1992, the only other book of hers which hasn't released yet is coming out next month although I'm unsure wether or not it'll be an anticipated release," I say.

Everyone at the table all turns to look at me, both surprised that I've spoken and that I know by memory the exact date of the books release.

"Well I guess that settles it then," Amias says reclining back into his chair, for a second he thinks to himself then moves forward again, as if about to speak.

"Aimon why don't come with up to the Halloween party at Harper House next month? I know it'll probably be something a bit uninteresting to you but it'll give us a good chance to get to know you better and blow off some steam. So what do you say?"

For I moment I think about his invitation and what London's repeated to me countless times already and say, "That sounds cool. I'll go."
From the corner of my eye I can spot London's smile, content that she's helped me even in the smallest of ways.

10:42 pm

Later on it started to get late so London decided to conclude the study group and everyone started heading out, Morana staying behind to help clean up.

While I was washing the dishes London came up to me and said, "Look at you engaging in conversation, getting invited to a party, who would've thought." She says with a smile.
