Halloween Party at Harper House
11:52 pm

"Come on Aimon, can you at least try to look like you're mildly enjoying yourself?", London tells me. Though at first I had no reason to want to come to this party Morana slowly convinced me ever since the study group. She's become more of a friend to me now, and we text often. A development I'm sure London is more than happy with.

I shoot her a purposeful awkward smile back and she rolls her eyes sarcastically, moving on and about through the house. It's hard to take her seriously when she's dressed as the party girl version of a can of Diet Coke.

There's a bunch of people here that go to the same university as us but since the majority of them major in all kinds of different things, this is the first time I've seen most of them before.

I walk towards the kitchen of the house which is a mess and scattered with plastic cup and drinks that have long since been spilled over. While I wade through the masses of people I make my way to the counter to pour myself a drink when I feel an arm interlock with my own. I turn to see a girl in a vampire costume standing a little too close to me, and clearly drunk.

"What's a good looking guy like you doing by yourself in a place like this?," the girl asks me.

"Just trying to get a drink," I say showing her the cup in my hand. She hugs my arm more, which makes me uncomfortable, though she doesn't seem to realize that.

"How come I've never seen you around before huh?", she asks me, while slightly swaying back and forth.

"I don't enjoy parties much," I say trying to gently pry her off me. As I struggle to of me I hear a voice from behind me, "Hey Aimon, I've been looking everywhere for you!"

I turn to see Morana dressed as an angel, and in this lighting and predicament I'm in she might as well be one. She walks towards me with the sweetest smile on her face and says, "I've missed you," while embracing me. The second she does the girl in the vampire costume lets go, seemingly embarrassed.

I embrace her myself as well, and only for a small moment do I allow myself forget that she's only pretending. Why does a small part of me wish she wasn't pretending?

"Oh sorry, didn't realize you had a girlfriend," the girl in the vampire costume said before walking away.

"Only five minutes of being at this party and you've already got girls hitting on you? Well played Aimon," she says with a smirk.

"All I was trying to do was get a drink," I say with a laugh.

"So what's your costume supposed to be?", she says while locking arms with me and walking back out of the kitchen, drinks in hand.

"It's Dom Toretto, come on, you didn't recognize it?", I ask her. She looks up and down at my costume which is made up of a black sleeveless tank top and a cross chain necklace I borrowed off Winston before I left.

"Well now with context I recognize it," she says her arm still wrapped around mine. We walk through the house and see London in the distance out dancing in the middle of a large living room filled to the brim with people, music and the smell of alcohol wafting through the air.

"Oh my God you guys don't know how much I need to come to this tonight," she says when we finally catch up to her.

"You're definitely not the only one who needed this tonight London," Morana tells her with a half smile.
