Jisoo looked at "his" crying manner, and it movedthe softest part of his heart. The man sneered sinisterly, "Just now, what did you shout at the heavens halfway down the slope?"
Chaeyoung was stunned. For a moment, she could not recall which sentence he meant.
Jisoo thought she was pretending to be confused and continued to prompt, "You said that you wanted to tell me something?"
Chaeyoung suddenly remembered. She had said that she liked Jisoo earlier on...
"I... I didn't say anything..."
Coming face to face with the person concerned at this moment, Chaeyoung denied in shock.
Her face flushed red as she avoided Jisoo's burning gaze. With her current identity and status, how could she admit that she liked Jisoo?
Earlier on, it was only because her life was hanging by a thread, so she vented her resentments to the heavens. Now that she had found Jisoo, all those complaints had turned into gratitude. Her solitary courage had dissipated, and she was now a coward!
In the current life and death situation, how could Jisoo still have the mood to ask that?
Seriously!
She was really dumbfounded at him!
Jisoo did not believe her. He smiled and continued asking, "The slope is open and wide. I've heard everything!"
Oh no, this...
Chaeyoung was so nervous that she moved her body to one side and mumbled, "What did you hear? I didn't... say anything..."
Jisoo sighed and straightened out his body. The slow and deliberate movement alarmed Chaeyoung as she thought he was going to die...
In actual fact, Jisoo's mind and body just felt relaxed.
In the tens of hours of being trapped here, apart from his parents and friends, the thoughts that went through his head the most were all about Xiaodai.
He had many soldiers under him, many of whom they had been through life and death together, but he did not think that much about them.
Even if he died, those people would still live well. There was no need for him to be concern of them.
However, Xiaodai was different.
He clearly remembered when their training was over one day, Jisoo came out of the training hall with Xiaodai on his back as usual. "He" lied on his back and said affectionately. "Master, you're the best man in the world! I don't trust anyone, but I trust you the most..."
(Speaking of which, dear Xiaodai, your act of lying on Mr Kim's back at every turn gives us reason to doubt your motive, haha...)
Jisoo knew that the experience of "he" being trafficked caused "him" to have an instinctive sense of rejection to the outside world.
That was why Jisoo gave some thoughts to sending Xiaodai to school. With kung fu and education, it would be easier for "him" to live in the world. "He" would also get to build a strong inner world and integrate into the normal life...
However, if he were to die, what would happen to Xiaodai?
As Jisoo pondered the matter, a surge of gratitude rose from his heart. Regardless of whether he could make it out of here alive, being able to see this person whom he missed very much at the final moments of his life, he had to say that he was extremely lucky.
"Xiaodai!"
"Hmm?"
Chaeyoung was retrieving the wireless intercom equipment from her bag to begin adjusting the frequency. Hence, though Jisoo was speaking to her, she answered him absent-mindedly.
