There are windows in the dungeons but none show the sky. Just the filtered light through the murky green water of the lake.
Katsuki hates it.
He walks around the edge of the lake kicked at the rocky shoreline. It's not like he's waiting to meet Kirishima.
The idiot hadn't given an exact time or location of where they were supposed to meet. And this lake was absolutely massive.
But Katsuki felt like he was suffocating indoors. He hadn't been able to sleep, his dorm room felt too alien, and the common room made him feel like he was drowning. The whole castle just felt ..too much at the moment.
Frustrated, he bent down to grab a rock. He tossed it up and caught it a couple of times, feeling the weight in his hand. He pivoted and threw it towards the water.
1.. 2.. 3.. 4..
"HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!"
Katsuki nearly jumped out of his skin at the sudden booming voice. He had been sure no one was around. Atop the nearby hill was none other than Kirishima.
The redhead was standing in front of the sun making it difficult to make out his expression. Not like the blonde had time to since the redhead was already barreling down the hill toward the shore.
Kirishima flailed his arms wildly in an windmill motion as he tried to stay balanced and attempted to slow down. It didn't work too well as he ended up with his shoes in the shallows of the lake while slipping backwards onto the shore.
The blonde approached the groaning pile of limbs and looked down pretending like that wasn't the most hilarious shit he'd seen all week, "The fuck are you doing?"
Legs still in the water and now resting on his forearms, the boy looked up, "Guess I was too eager on my entrance, huh?"
Katsuki choked down a laugh, "Yah, fucking think, meathead?"
Kirishima stood up, slipped off his now soaked green sneakers and brushed the dirt off his cargo shorts. That matched with his bright orange hoodie made his whole ensemble a complete eye sore.
"So..", the redhead eyes darted around conspiratorially, "did you use magic?"
The confusion was palpable, "What?"
"You know to make the rock jump over the water like that!", and at that Katsuki does let out a laugh.
He covers his mouth to muffle the sound but just ends up snorting and laughing harder.
Soon Kirishima joins in but he looks more amused at the blonde failing to gain back his composure.
After the final chuckles die down, "Have you seriously never seen someone skip a rock before?"
