I was so glad that I told her everything

I was so glad that I told her everything.

I love her.

It was the truth.

Maybe it wasn't the best time to tell her but I couldn't wait any longer. I understand that she needs a lot of time for herself, she needs time to process everything that happened. She needs time to...love me. I know it's hard to love someone like me. Maybe she will never love me, but I just want her to know that I do love her, I would do anything for her.

I was still sitting in the living room. With my head hung low and my fingers slightly tugging my hair. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs so I straightened my head but it wasn't Paris, it was Olivia.

"Elias?" She said in her sweet voice. It still sounds very surprising to me but happiness overwhelmed me when I hear her. "What's going on?"

"I told her everything." I said. Olivia already knew everything, too. I told her a long time ago, when I was drunk, before the wedding.

"You- you what?"

"I had to, Olivia. Plus, her mom finally came."

Olivia stood there with her mouth and eyes wide open. "Oh wow...I can only imagine what she's going through right now." She said and sat down next to me, putting her hand on my shoulder.

"I told Paris that I love her."

Silence.

"You what?" Olivia literally shouted in excitement. "Oh my God! Really? What did she say?"

I shrugged. "Nothing, she ran away in her room. But I understand her, she needs time."

Olivia hugged me and caressed my back. "She does, and I know everything will be fine. She will forgive you, I'm hundred percent sure."

I hope so...I really hope so.

My brother is in love! I repeat, my brother is in love!

My brother is in love! I repeat, my brother is in love!

I've never felt happier for him. But I honestly felt really bad for Paris and what she was going through. She helped me a lot so I wanted to do the same for her.

I went upstairs and knocked on her door. No answer.

"Paris, it's me Olivia, can you please open the door?" I said and knocked one more time.

After a few seconds she opened the door, looking very tired and sad. I went inside and immediately gave her a hug which she accepted. "Everything will be fine." I tried to reassure her.

We sat down on her bed as she leaned her head on my shoulder. "Today was shitty." She said and wiped some tears that streamed down her face.

"I can only imagine..." I said and patted her back. "Look, Paris, you know how much you helped me and I really want to do the same for you. I'm really thankfull not just for what you did for me, but for my brother too. You know, Elias, he wasn't always this cold, rude guy, he used to be the sweetest brother ever. But- but when my dad killed my mom in front of our eyes...everything changed."

Paris's eyes widened as a look of horror was plastered on her face. "W- what?"

I lowered my head, taking a deep breath, trying to gain courage to continue. "He was so aggressive and just the worst father ever. I feel like he hated us. While on the contrary, my mom was the loveliest person. One night, after they came back from a business dinner, my father started shouting and accusing her of cheating on him, which wasn't true. Then-" I never told anyone this so it was getting really hearbreaking for me. All those memories coming back.

Paris squeezed my hand, giving me her support. "Then he- he shoot her, in front of our eyes. We were just children, Paris. So since then, everything changed. His whole personality changed and I stopped talking. I never uttered a word after that event since...since you came in our life. You changed my brother for the better, Paris. You are like a light shining on him. I know he loves you so much, believe me. I know that these were a lot of informations to process but I just wanted to get this off my chest." I let out the deep breath that I was holding.

"Thank you." Paris whispered and gave me one last hug.

I felt like a stone had fallen from my chest. Well, I really didn't give my brother a chance but I knew that he won't be mad that I told Paris about our past. The person who saved me deserved to know everything.
