"Can you stay a little late?" asked Abby.
"I don't know...my mom said to be home by nine..." I replied, unsure.
"C'mon! She won't get mad at YOU. You're perfect!"
"I am not!" I snapped. Abby put her hands up like the police were arresting her. "So?" she asked, pulling her bottom lip over one way.
"Oh, fine." I gave into Abby.
"Perfect!" she exclaimed, "Now, so you wanna make pizza?" with a mischievous look on her face, we both hollered, "TURTLE SHAPED PIZZA!" That was our little thing, we'd always put pepperoni to look like the shell, and mound cheese all over....So, I stayed over at Abby's for a couple hours.

I dropped my bag onto the floor and closed the big oak door behind me. I slid into the kitchen to go get a glass of milk before bed. I spun round to pour the milk, and standing on the other side of the island was my mom, hard to recognize, because her face was pinched into a stern look I did not recognize.
"Hi Mom!" I chirped, sipping my milk.
"Caitlin Madison O'Rileigh!" Mom shouted. Now I put down my milk and looked up. "It is 11 o'clock on a school night! You were supposed to be home 2 hours ago! You had us worried sick!"
"Sorry?" I whispered. I'm really not used to being in this sort of situation.
"I'm going to ground you for a week!" she scolded. "Don't let it happen again!
Now go to bed."
So I went upstairs with my milk, mumbling to myself the whole way. "I've never been grounded before! What'd I do? How will I hang with Abby?" I kept my head down as I opened the top drawer of my dresser and pulled out some pjs.
"GAH!" I yelled as I noticed it. My dresser was standing on the edge of the floor, hanging into nothingness. The south wall had vanished, left there was an expanse of white. I stuck my arm in, expecting it to hit a glass panel or something. It went straight through, and I stumbled in. My feet were planted on solid white ground. I took a few careful steps in, and I started to see a foggy outline of a city. The outline of my room was also becoming foggy. I was scared now, so I ran back and jumped in bed. As I pulled the covers over my head, I realized I was going to have to go to the city at some point. Something told me I had to.
