I woke up to a small strip of sunlight shining on my eyes. I looked over across the wall to see, and the wall was there. I squinted my eyes, confusedly. The wall was completely normal. I wobbled down the stairs wiping the sleep from my eyes.
"Caitlin is that you?" my mother called from the kitchen.
"Yeah." I grunted, half awake.
"Mrs. Blanch called, you're going to hang out with Kim after school." Now I was confused.
"Aren't I...grounded?" I asked.
"Why would we ground you? What'd you do?" I looked at her skeptically. "Didn't I stay at Abby's 2 hours after curfew?"
"Ummm, no, you were in bed by 10!" she replied, putting down a plate of bacon and eggs in front of me. I shrugged. I'm okay with not being grounded. But I knew something just wasn't right.

I was early for school, just in time for Glee Club. Mr. Sanders kept me a couple minutes after because he wants me to prepare a solo for the solo auditions. for that reason, I was a bit late to get to my locker. Luckily the hall was empty so I didn't have to squeeze in between two people to get to my locker. I quickly opened my lock and...I had forgotten about my science project! Marbles were scattered everywhere. I dropped to the floor to start picking them up.
"BBBRRRIIIINNNNGGG!" The bell rang.
"Shoot." I grumbled, trying to pick up the pace.
"Caitlin?" asked Mrs. Freeman, nicknamed Freeman the Demon for her strictness. I knew just that moment I wouldn't get off easy.
"It looks," she said, not looking at me. "As if you are late." she stared at me for a moment. "I will see you in detention!" chirruped the Demon. "On with the lesson!"
