Well, at least I finished my homework before I got home. Mrs. Freeman had me stay until 3:45. When I finally did get home, my mom was standing right inside the doorway waiting for me.
"Kim told me you were in detention. Caitlin," she asked. "What happened?"
"Well, the marbles dropped out of my locker and I tried to pick them up..."
"Get to the point." she interrupted.
"I was late."
"Ok. I'm not going to say I'm not upset, but I have to let you off, you have a good reason, she's just strict."
"Thank you Mom!" I exclaimed, lounging at her in order to hug her. "I'm going upstairs." I say, hopping up the stairs to my room. I stared at the wall as it disappeared into nothingness, leaving an expanse of white between the sides of the room. The left wall started to fuzz off at the corner, so now I had one and a half walls gone. I carefully stepped one foot out into the blankness. I flinched at the cold air, and just ran.

The city was coming into view. I was starting to walk into a wheat sort of field. Coming into view with the buildings, I noticed a network of rails over the city with cars flying this way and that. I took a step closer and came flying into contact with something, tripping and landing in between the rows of plants. I turned around to see a small child, no more than 5 years old, standing back up and brushing off.
"Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't see you! Are you ok?" I said, helping her up. She looked up, and fear grazed her face.
"You must leave. Go. GO!"
