"Aunt (Name)!"
A bouncy, twelve-year-old Naruto yelled. He ran inside the house, grinning happily.

I placed a bowl of ramen on the table and chuckled softly.
"What is it, Naruto?"
I called. He ran in and stood proudly. My eyes fell on his headband. Despite his injuries, he never looked happier. In face, he reminded me of his father when he and I became genin. A smile broke on my face.
"You did it?! What happened? I thought Iruka-sensei failed you."
I asked.

"Well, I accidentally stole-"

"I know that part."
I scolded.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! Use common sense, Naruto!"
I huffed.

He held up his hands and nodded.
"Yes, ma'am."
He said softly.
"Anyway, I perfected the Shadow Clone Justu and he decided to pass me!"
He told me, sitting down at his chair, but he looked a little distracted by something.

"Well, congratulations! Tonight, I'll make you as much ramen as you want and your favorite sweets!"
I grinned, trying to cheer him up.

"Aunt (Name)?"

I looked down at him, smiling. He looked rather serious, which was so unlike Naruto-like. My smile faltered a bit as I took my seat.
"Yes, my little fox?"
I asked. I watched him tense as I called him that. Strange, it never bothered him before.

"Mizuki said something about the Forth Hokage sealing a demon inside of me.."
He said softly. He looked down at his bowl, picking at it.

What?
I thought.
Oh, Naruto..
As furious as I was, seeing him so down broke my heart.

"He said that it nearly destroyed the village and that everyone hates me because I'm to ni-"

"No."
I growled, looking down. My bangs covered my eyes as angered fueled inside of me.
"You are not Kurama. You are Naruto Uzumaki, my nephew, a genin on his way to becoming Hokage."
I told him, looking up at him.
"Do you remember what I told you when you started the academy?"
He nodded softly.
"What did I say?"

Naruto remained silent for a couple of minutes as he thought back.
"You told me to hold my head high. That it doesn't matter how I'm treated or what people say about me. What matters is how I see myself and as long as I have someone by my side, I can become anything I wanted."
He told me.

"Exactly.."
I reached over, ruffling his hair. He smiled softly, but he still looked unhappy. I sighed softly.
"How about I tell you how it happened and why it happened? How I knew your parents, their story, and why you're with me.."
I told him.

His eyes brightened at my suggestion and nodded.
"Please!"
He begged.

I chuckled softly and nodded.
"Well, Your mother moved into the village and I grew up with your father..."

"Minato!!"
I ran to my best friend, grinning happily.

"Hey, (Nickname)."
Minato greeted me with a sweet smile.
"Welcome home from your mission."
He wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug.

I giggled and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you!"
I told him.
"What happened while I was gone?"
I asked him. We started walking together.
