Chapter 5

When we return to the bus Toby and Trevor decide to go out for a “guys night out” while me and Sarah watch reruns of Glee.
“So Sarah…” I try to start off very calmly
“yeah”. she says completely in a trance from the t.v
“What do you think about Toby?” She snaps out of it and spins around to look at me.
“What do you mean?” She asks pausing the t.v.
“Like, do you like him?” She gives me a puzzled look but it eventually softens.
Honestly I don’t know.” she starts. “We have been friends for so long I think it would be weird.”
“Yeah, I guess your right?”
She puts back on the tv and we sit in silence except for the occasional laugh when Rachel would act like her crazy self absorbed self. I start to think about my situation with Trevor, maybe she was right. Maybe falling in love with Trevor was a little too extreme. I then force myself to push all of my emotions deep inside to stay trapped forever.
Sarah shuts off the t.v.
“What was that for?”
“I have to tell you something”. Sarah says out of the blue. “I was thinking of what you said and… I think I do!” She has a worried expression on her face.
“Don’t worry Saralt (a nickname we all call her) I will keep your secret.” I give her a warm expression to ensure her.
“Thanks Erin you are the best!”
“I know!” We laugh and when we do I realize me and Sarah haven’t spent time together like this since freshman year. It feels good to have rebonded with my best friend.
