Bullet sounds saturate the air, debris cascading my face like a white mask,
I hardly see the men in black coats, red octopus decorating the front of it. One swings at me, but I dodge and slam my foot into the center of his spine.
Dana Thompson; my partner, has streams of salty sap flowing off her face. Another man in the same red octopus attire hoists his leg to endeavor to kick her, we crouch and decline in between the crack of a ledge
"Dana, I don't know who these 'men' are but they aren't doing a good job at fighting," I yell wiping the crimson blood gushing off my forehead.
I kick over a man and his back collided with the wall, he begins to slide down and lying sluggishly at the bottom.
"Aeri! This way" Dana clamors to me plummeting into a vent, a man in a spangled red, white, and blue suit roamed underneath us with a matching shield and tiny silver wing on each side of his head.
Dana silently snickers, I tap her shoulder in suspicion, "He'll hear us. Shush,"
The man whips his head around and finally up looking to what I strongly assume is us.
"Hello? Is anyone there? Show yourself," the man yells from below us.
"It would make no sense to hide now," I whisper to her. We hop down, waving at the man "hey, I'm Aerin and this is Dana." I point at the shorter woman next to me
"Steve, Steve Rogers." He smiles a pearly white smile and waves two fingers back and forth between his head in almost a salute.
"Pleasure to meet you, Steve," Dana leans in and shakes his hand lovingly staring into his cyan eyes
"Do you mind helping us?" I interrupt annoyed.
The three of us head towards the control centers, mobs of men form in front of us
"I'll go ahead to find the control center," Dana says looking back before running out of sight. "Okay I have to go win a war, I'll be back." Steve implies trailing before me heading in a different direction
Dana and I return to our base. Hear new later Steve went into the ice after finding The Red Skull.
Even though I didn't know him that long losing Steve felt almost like losing family.
I practically did, the only other family I've ever known besides Dana.
Hell, I didn't even have parents for the last 18 years.
