Chapter 3: The Emergency

Daniel's POV:

After that conundrum, the elevator lifted us up while we got up on our feet. The elevator stopped for a moment to give the pups some time to suit up.

The elevator continued moving up to the Control Room. The elevator stopped, the doors opened and the pups jumped to their positions.

I ran towards Ryder and stood beside him.

Chase then shouted, "PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder, sir!

I then replied, "and Daniel Irving reportingfor duty"

Ryder tapped his Pup-Pad, lowering the main screen down.

Ryder: Thanks for coming, everyone. As you pups know, we gained a new ally and friend.

Zuma: We do, but Ryder, what is the emergency anyway? I mean we haven't got any new emergencies for a week.

Ryder: Good question, Zuma. True, it's been a while since we had new emergencies, but this time, we got new trouble.

The screen then shows Mayor Humdinger and his kittens.

Rex: Who is that?

Everest: That is Mayor Humdinger from Foggy Bottom, and he is always causing trouble along with his nephew, Harold.

Me: Correct, Everest.

Ryder: Back on the subject. So, Mayor Humdinger seems to have caused trouble once again.

Rocky: What Humdinger caused trouble now?

Ryder: From what I can tell, it seems like Humdinger was attempting an assassination.

The pups gasped in shock.

Rex: Where did you get this news, Ryder?

Ryder: I'm not sure, but I got it from Katie, Mr. Porter and Alex.

Coral: Yikes!

Ryder: So, this is very personal for us. It's time that we take action and stop him.

He scrolled his Pup-Pad and chose Skye's logo and assigned her a task.

Ryder: Skye, I need you to use your helicopter to scan the ground for Mayor Humdinger.

Skye: *barks* Let's take to the skies!

He scrolled again but this time, Chase's.

Ryder: Chase, I need you with your super spy gear and drone to assist Skye finding Mayor Humdinger.

Chase: Super spy Chase is on the case!

I saw Skye catch a glance at Chase, and blushed a bit.

Me: *to Ryder* Seems like your aviator has a crush on the leader.

Ryder: *snickers* I can see that. *to pups* I also need a bit of help, but it's not the rest of you.

Tracker: So if it's not one of us, then who is it, Ryder?

Ryder: It's Daniel.

I was caught off-guard by his answer.

Me: Me? Really?

Ryder: Yes. We could really use your assistance.

Me: Ok then, how can I help?

Ryder: You can actually use some of your abilities to help us.

Me: I'm in.

Ryder: All right, PAW Patrol is on a roll.

Ryder and I went down the fireman pole while Chase and Skye slid down to their pup houses, where it turned into their vehicles.

I rode on Ryder's ATV as he drove through Adventure Bay.

We were going to confront Mayor Humdinger and his kittens.
