Chase's POV:

Along the way back to the Lookout, I was still blushing after I kept replaying that memory from City Hall in my head over and over again.

My heart literally got stirred up and skipped a few beats every time I thought about her.

It's like that I'm actually in love with her.

Honestly, all my life ever since I became Ryder's companion and his police pup, I have always been the serious leader for years.

But as the years went on, I started to gain trust within my friends and they had been a big help assisting me in missions, especially Skye.

Just as I thought about that, Ryder snapped me out of my trance by asking,

"Thinking about Skye, your life or something?"

Me: "Oh, uh... No?"

Ryder: Really? Your blushing face says otherwise.

He smirked.

I tried holding it back, but to no avail.

I sighed in defeat.

Me: Yes, I did think about her. Not only that, I thought about the moments that happened in my life. From getting adopted to be your companion to the friends I gained as time goes on. You really changed my life for the better, Ryder.

Ryder: Thanks, Chase. I appreciate your comment.

After Ryder thanked me, we arrived at the Lookout and Dan was waiting for us.

I bet he was waiting for at least 15 minutes or more.

Daniel: Finally, you're here.

Skye and I parked our vehicles, jumped out of them and they changed back to pup house mode while Ryder opened the garage door and parked his ATV inside.

Skye ran off to hang out with Everest and Ryder came back to chat with me and Dan.

Daniel: That was a very risky mission back there.

Me: Tell me about it. Humdinger was a real pain, honestly. This one however, he was really over the edge than his other shenanigans.

Ryder: Literally.

Rubble: Hey, Chase. I see you and the others are back.

Daniel: Yeah.
