I walked back and forth. Back and forth. Back. and. forth. Vette was sitting down on a couch with her hand in her hands. I heard her crying. I had never seen Vette so it was a weird experience. Orion was no where to be seen. I stared at her as I saw her tears roll from her cheeks. Another feeling washed over me that I hadn't felt in a while. Sorrow. I had dealt with Rage, Regret, and the occasional Happiness. But Sorrow only washed over me when I lost Kilo. I clenched my fist as I thought it over again.
I had a patch over my chest from where I had taken the bullet wound. The one bullet had caused more damage than expected. It had restricted my ability to move my right arm.
I slowly walked over and sat next to Vette. I wasn't familiar to comforting another person, let alone a ice warrior like Vette. I slowly brought my arm around her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. At first she shied away. But soon after she was pressing hardly against my side. "It'll be alright." I said as she continued crying. "She was like a sister to me." Vette choked out between sobs. I just nodded not knowing what to say.
After what felt like hours, it may have been, when you're waiting for something important time has either no meaning or all meaning, A nurse came out of the room that Nemori was in. Vette bolted from her seat and asked "How is she?" The nurse responded by saying, "See for yourself." And as on a Que Orion showed up. "Where you been?" He asked grinning at me.
"None of your business." I spat and I heard him mutter, "Guess for a Warlock he's not the greatest fighter." That ticked me off. "Take. That. Back." I said as I stood up my robes fluttering. "Come at me, scholar." He said grinning. I let the rage build up inside against Orion. But then my eyes came across Nemori, she nodded.
I pulled my mask over my head and my hands began to glow orange. I let the fire burn through me. I saw Orion's knife flash from his side and it was ignited blue. I swung my arm around at Orion's head but he ducked and I missed. He brought the knife across my chest but all it did was slice the robe, he had missed.
I had a trick up my sleeve. It was Awoken tradition to fight to the death or until the loser admits defeat. I opened my fist sending Orion flying back in a Solar Wind. He countered by sending a wave of Arc energy toward me. I quickly jumped out of the way as he charged me. "Showtime." I muttered to myself. I ran head on into Orion, I had to make this convincing.
Orion swung his blade, cutting deep into my arm. I shook of the pain and continued my assault. He swung again and he slashed my leg. I collapsed. He stood over me gloating. "Do you admit defeat?" He asked grinning. "Hell no." I spat. "Your mistake." He said plunging the knife into my back.
Darkness.
Open space that cannot be explained.
darkness......
BOOM! I pulled my light back into my body and the solar light burned through me. Orion was taken back and his mouth gaped open. I pounded on him leaving his armor with scorch marks all over it. He was on the ground in a matter of seconds, beaten and bruised. "Conceit." I said as I stood over him. "Fine." He said. "Say it!" I said leaning over him. "I conceit." He said spitting up blood.
