"SO... YOU THINK ROBBY IS HIS SON?"

Miguel nodded with exasperation to Mona as she asked for about the fourth or fifth time.

"Damn," she muttered, glancing away. "Talk about a plot twist."

"We should ask him about it tomorrow," Hawk suggested, tossing up the volleyball again.

Miguel frowned. "I don't know."

Mona looked over at him, rolling her eyes.

"Miguel, now's not the time to play teacher's pet. We need to confront Sensei Lawrence about it."

He side-eyed her, wanting to snap back but knowing she was right.

"If we can get definitive proof that Robby is his son, then we will," Miguel finally agreed.

The gears in Mona's brain began turning, a smile forming on her face.

"Don't worry. I can find out for sure."

Later on, everyone but Mona and Miguel had left. They sat down beside each other on a beach towel, watching people walk by.

"Sam talked about you the other day," Mona casually said, Miguel whipping his head over with confusion.

"You talk to Sam?"

Mona nodded. "Mhm. Aisha introduced us. But anyway, she told me she wants to talk to you but doesn't know what to say."

Miguel sat up more so he could see Mona's face.

"Really?"

Once more Mona nodded, meeting Miguel's eyes. "Really. She said she feels like the reason you're acting the way that you are is because of Cobra Kai."

Miguel felt like he had been hit by a ton of bricks.

"She– she said that?" There was hurt in his voice.

Mona sighed, giving him a sympathetic look. "Hey, no one said it was true. And even though I don't know why you guys broke up, I don't think you're a bad person."

Miguel looked at her with a soft expression. Then he cleared his throat, awkwardly breaking eye contact.

"I appreciate it," he muttered.
