THERE WAS A KNOCK ON MONA'S DOOR at close to seven o'clock.

She went to get it, opening the door to see Miguel standing there.

Mona smiled. "I was hoping it was you and not a serial killer."

Miguel laughed, Mona stepped aside so he could come in. She shut the door behind her.

"Nice place," he said, looking around the foyer.

"Thanks," Mona replied, walking ahead of him and guiding Miguel into the living room. "So... what kind of movies do you like to watch?"

Miguel shrugged rather awkwardly. "Uh– I-I don't mind. Whatever's cool with you."

She nodded, a devious smile forming on her face.

"Well, I like horror movies. So as long as you aren't a wuss, we can watch The Exorcist."

"Are you kidding?" Miguel replied. "I love The Exorcist. It's one of the best horror movies ever."

Mona grinned a little. "This is why I like you. Anyway, do you want some popcorn? I ordered a pizza too, it should be here soon."

He nodded. "Yeah. Popcorn sounds good."

She walked into the kitchen at once, and returned a few minutes later with a bowl of popcorn.

"So, I might have slightly burned it," she said, sitting on the couch beside Miguel.

He laughed. "I love my popcorn slightly burnt, how'd you know?" Miguel said sarcastically.

Mona rolled her eyes lightly, turning on the movie. They both sat and watched the movie for awhile until Mona got bored, glancing over at Miguel.

"I'm bored," she said with a sigh.

Miguel looked over at her. "Yeah, and I'm terrified. Does this movie not scare you?"

She shrugged. "Not anymore. I've seen it a dozen times."

"We can pick something else to watch," he suggested. "I won't complain."

Mona chuckled softly, shifting to turn and face Miguel completely. "Mm... I wanna do something else."

Miguel quickly became flustered, shaking his head with confusion.
