It was the third time the driver looked at the couple through the rearview. The way they stole glances at each other. Maybe they didn't notice they were doing so.

Seeing their hands close, the driver wanted to take their fingers and entwine them. Give the pair a good piece of his mind and tell them to stop playing games. Life was way too short to avoid happiness and love.

Through the rearview, he watched the man close his eyes and clench his jaw. He saw the woman knit her brows and steal a hopeful glance at him again.

It was obvious to anyone who took a glance at them.

They were in love but didn't know what to do.

"Stop the car!" Prim's words scared Rick, and he reached for his gun. "Stop the car, please!" She already had the door opened and one leg outside before the driver did as he was told.

Rick tried to grab her dress before she left the vehicle but was unsuccessful. He gave the driver some bills and took off after her. She crossed the avenue and almost died, ran over by the passing cars. He reached her when she stopped at some closed gates.

"Oh no!" She lamented in a murmur.

"Are you out of your mind?" He scolded her, who wasn't listening. He watched her try to get the gates open, and when she couldn't, she tried to jump over them.

Rick held her waist and pulled her flush to his chest. "What are you doing?" He asked on her ears.

"I want in." She tried to get his hands off her. "I need to get in." She held the iron bars when he tried to take her away from there.

"Don't be ridiculous. It's closed shut, and we need to go back to the hotel." He embraced her. He didn't need to do it, but his body did it without his command.

When Prim calmed down, he placed her on the path again. "We need to leave." He held her hand and turned to leave, but she pulled him close.

"Rick, please!" She looked into his eyes. Tears welling on her lashes. "Please, I need to get in there." His resolve decided to crumble. "It's been months." Her hands fanned over his chest. "I don't get to be surrounded by nature in so, so long. Please, Rick." Her voice low, stirring in him his most protective side. "I'll do anything you want." His mind flashed in his eyes the words tell me, you love me too.

Rick closed his mouth, afraid he would say too much. He looked up and spotted a church surrounded by a green garden in the distance. The gates closed, stopping them from entering the place. "It's closed. We can't break into a church." Her tears rolled down her face. Her red lips parted, and a sob escaped them. If he had a shard of resolve, it disappeared as soon as she begged him again. Rick sighed in resignation. "Wait here." She nodded and took a step back.

He studied the gates. They were high but could be jumped over. He looked at Prim, who watched him with hope in her features. His eyes fell to her dress and heels. No, it wouldn't do. She could get hurt, and he would never forgive himself. "I'm sorry, Prim, but-" His words were cut short when he felt one of her vines snake around his waist and lift him up in the air. Landing them both on the other side of the gates. "I guess that works." He shrugged her way, making her giggle.
