lily POV:

when we arrived i had to alice. so i walked over to the giant yelling for the first years

"first years over here!" the giant yelled.

"hi excuse me but who are you?" lily carefully approached the giant.

the giant looked down at her and said "blimey you look like alice yaxley. i'm rubeus hagrid. the ground keeper here at hogwarts."

"alice is my oldest sibling but i'm lily nice to meat you hagrid. i have a feeling we will be seeing more of each other but i better go." lily replied to him.

"yes you might want to get a move on then. goodbye lily."

as she was walking towards the lake she heard someone say something.

"hello? hi i'm lewis prewett. what would your name be?" the boy asked her.

"oh hi it's lily yaxley. could we be friends? i've never really had a friend. i've got my siblings and cousins but vita not the same. oh i'm rambling i'm sorry." lily rambled to the boy who is now known as lewis.

"your fine and i would love to be your friend. i've never really had any either. except my cousins. i don't have any siblings or parents but on with that. how many siblings do you have?" lewis told the girl. he never talked to people this easily so he knew she could be trusted.

"oh i'm sorry. i have three older siblings but i have two cousins too. i have alice, max, and regulus their my siblings. then we have rhea and draco my cousins." lily said.

"no more than four to a boat!" hagrid told all the new first years.

lily and lewis climbed into a boat with two other children named stacy and dylan but they seemed to be in their own conversation.

they talked about houses and all of lewis' cousins. lewis' whole family had been in gryffindor but he didn't think he would be in there. he believes he would make a better ravenclaw. lily thinks she would be one too but everyone else believes slytherin.

when they walked into the castle everyone was star struck. it was beautiful. lily had been told what it had looked like but it was indescribable.

"welcome to hogwarts" said professor mcgonagall. "the start of the year banquet will begin shortly but before you take your seats in the great hall you will be sorted into your houses. the sorting hat is a very important ceremony because, while you are here your house will be like something like your family within hogwarts. you will have classes with the rest of your house sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in your house common room."

"the four houses are called gryffindor hufflepuff ravenclaw and slytherin. each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. while your at hogwarts your triumphs will earns your house points while any rule breaking will lose house points. at the end of the year the house with the most points is awarded to the house either the most points. i hope each of you will be a credit to whichever house becomes yours"

"the sorting ceremony will take place in a few moments in front of the rest of the school. i suggest all of you smarten yourselves up as much as you can come  while you are waiting." professor mcgonagall.

lily looked to her right and gave lewis a tight lipped smile. they looked up when they heard a voice say "move along now"

" the sorting ceremony is about to begin." professor mcgonagall had told the first years.

after the hat sang it's song, names started to being called out.

"aaron, carlee"

"HUFFLEPUFF"

"bell, dave"

"GRYFFINDOR"

"brown, sally"

"GRYFFINDOR"

lily started zoning out but snapped back in when rebut called

"prewett, lewis"

"good luck" lily whispered to said boy.

it took a few minutes. like the hat was debating what house he should be in but it come to the conclusion that lewis would be a...

"RAVENCLAW"

lily cheered because she knew what house he wanted to be in and he got there. after a while she heard her name.

"yaxley, lily"

everyone fell silent. she could feel eyes on her every which way. she heard whispering along the lines of "that's alice yaxleys sister"

when she made it up to the hat professor mcgonagall placed the hat on top of her head and the last thing she saw was lewis giving her a thumbs up.

"interesting another yaxley. there quite a lot of you huh. not as many weasleys though. your difficult. cunning, ambitious, witty, intelligent and loyal. you would do well in slytherin with your siblings but ravenclaw might be a better fit."

it felt like hours to lily. she could hear the hat debating between slytherin and ravenclaw. she honestly didn't know anymore.

"that will be it.....  RAVENCLAW!!"

the ravenclaw table cheered. "we got yaxley" "we have an alice yaxley"

lily walked over to the ravenclaw table with a bright smile on her face as she sat next to lewis.

"i told you we were meant to be in ravenclaw." lewis muttered.

lily just laughed she seen the sad but happy smile her siblings were giving her. she knew they wanted her over there but this was meant to be.

lewis and lily were meant to be.
