I was at Girl Scouts yesterday, ( Yes I'm a Girl Scout, deal with it.) and we were singing songs because most of us are going to be JPA's this summer. Incase you didn't know, JPA stands for junior program assistant. Another random thing is we all have 'camp names' which is what we go by while at camp.
And at the end of the week we tell the campers our real names.
We started singing one song called 'Percy The Pale-faced Polar Bear', at least I think that's what it's called. But anyway there's a part that goes:
Sleeps all day and then at night
Catch a few fish by the pale moonlight
Right after we sang this part, I muttered "if he sleeps 24-7, how does he catch fish."
After that, there's a line that goes:
And he howled and he growled but he couldn't get out!
After this, I was said "Why didn't he just attack the hunter, then he wouldn't be in the stupid cage in the first place."
Or something to that general affect.
Then we sang the pirate song. ( I forgot what it's actually called.😳) The chorus is:
I climbed aboard the pirate ship
And the captain said to me,
We're going this way that way
Over the Irish Sea
A 7-up to fill be up and that's the life for me, arg!
When we got to the captain part, I thought of Captain Thorne from
The Lunar Chronicles. Which is pretty ironic considering that my camp name is Cress. (Another LC character.) Then I started associating the ship with the Rampion ( Thorne's space ship).
And pretty soon I mentally turning the whole song into a LC parody.
As you can probably imagine, I couldn't keep a straight face through the rest of the song.
