Chapter 23

Pov Skylar

"Cal..'' i finally got out. We stood next to him. He was laying there so peacfully. His eyes closed and his mouth attached to a machine that gave him oxygen. Almost his whole body was covered in stiches and he had an broken arm. He looked teribble.. And it was all my fault. I started crying. ''It's not your fault Sky.'' i tried to give him a small smile. Then the docter come in. ''Oh hello. I'm mister Hood's docter. Dr Mitchel.'' he came up to me and Ashton shook our hands and went to check on Calum. ''Is.. Is he going to be ok?'' i asked with hesatation. ''I'm not sure yet ma'am. He hasn't responded to any of the tests yet. But we will do what we can.'' he gave us a friendly smile and walked out.

I took a chair for Ashton to sit on and planted myself on his lap. ''Thanks for staying with me Ash.'' i whispered with tears in my eyes. he held me tight and like that we drifted off into our sleep.

-Four Months Later-

Pov Ashton

Calum still was in a coma and it got harder and harder for Skylar to deal with. She hasn't been eating or sleeping well. Plus she's still blaming herself for what happend. She shouldn't and i tell her everytime. We were going to the hospital again today. We tried to go at least twice a week. But we always end up going everyday. I was on my way to pick up Skylar. She got in and we went on our way t the hospital. A few hourswent by before the docter came in and told us visiting hour was over. ''Bye man.. Wake up.. We miss you..'' i said to Calum ''Cal.. I don't know if you can hear me..'' she began ''But i just want you to know that i'm sorry for not believing you and i'm sorry for not letting the past go.. Please wake up.. I.. I love you Calum Thomas Hood.. I love you..'' she hugged him and we went home. I stayed over at Skylar's mom was out of town and she wanted me too.

It was 4 in the morning when the phone went off. We got a call from the hospital to come over as fast as we could. We didn't even change into normal clothes and rushed to the hospital. We went up to Calum's room as fast as we could . I open the door and could not believe my eyes.

There he was. Just laying there. Not attached to any machines or on any medicine. He was.. Gone..
