Desteen's POV

"Did you.. are you.. hurt?" I carefully checked his body, but there are no wounds anywhere. How is he covered in blood?

"Me?" he asked, "oh no! Ran is hurt, I carried him so it's basically his and our enemies' blood."

"Ran is hurt?!" I immediately took my purse, "where is he?!"

"Calm down, doll. I brought him to the hospital, and Rindou's there since Akeime is also confined there. You wanna go to them?"

I bit my lip and looked back on my desktop. I'm still almost done with my forecasting, but not totally finish yet. I guess I could do it in Ran's room.

"Would Mr. Sano be mad if I turn this over a little bit late?" I carefully asked him but he just chuckled

"I'll explain to him, angel. Let's go?"

I nodded and took my stuff before leaving the room. But before we could reach the elevator, my phone rang. It's my husband.

I smiled at Haruchiyo apologetically and answered the call, "hey?"

"Go home this instant," he replied

"I have to go to Ran, he's injured from their–"

"Don't make me repeat myself, Kairi. Go home, now."

I couldn't even reason out anymore because he dropped the call right away. He sounded authoritative but at the same time, scared?

"I'm sorry, my husband.. he, uh, told me to go home now."

Haruchiyo raised a brow and clicked his tongue, "fucking coincidence, eh?"

"Huh?" I tilted my head in confusion but he just shook his head and smiled

"Let me walk you to your car, angel," he answered and took my hand

We walked to the car together and told him to update me about Ran and Akeime since he has to go there either way to discuss something with Rindou. I was about to close my door but he pulled it open.

"If something happens, no matter how small it is, call me right away hmm?" he said and I just squint my eyes, suspicious of his behavior but he kissed my nose which made me calm, "don't look at me like that, angel. Please, I don't wanna lose the one good thing I have in my life. And that's you."

I smiled and shook my head, "whatever, Haru. I'll leave now."

He nodded and closed the door for me. I was smiling the whole time, feeling super happy and secured with him. But it all died down as I parked my car in front of the house. I was about to go down when Rindou texted me.
