third day of filming

Aurora

I wake up at almost noon and the smell of bacon takes over my apartment. I wipe my eyes and realize I didn't take off last nights makeup. I groan and reluctantly get out of bed. I head into my bathroom across the hallway and catch a glimpse of Nick cooking while Alex is laying his head against the kitchen island. I smile to myself and go into the bathroom.

As soon as I see my reflection in the mirror, I decide it's best to take a shower so I go back into my room and grab a pair of jeans and a hoodie along with a clean towel. I grab my phone from my bedside table and thank my drunk self for remembering to make sure my phone would be charged.

I glance at my phone and see a message from Lexi and one from Harry.

I open Lexi's first: My head is pounding. never again

I smile and reply with a laughing emoji then I open Harry's.

As I click the message a photo of me lying in the backseat of his car asleep takes over my phone screen. I cringe as I see how sweaty and messy I look.

I reply to his text and head back into the bathroom. This time Alex sees me as I'm making my way in the bathroom and calls out for me.

"Let me shower first, Alex. I smell horrible and my makeup is gross."

I hear Nick laugh, "Oh you were totally messed up."

I groan and lock myself in the bathroom. I turn on the water as I get undressed, giving it time to warm. I feel the temperature of the water then I get in, letting the water soak my sweaty hair.

Once I am dressed and have brushed my teeth, I go into the kitchen where Alex is devouring his food. The shower has made me feel like a new person. I feel clean and not as tired or hungover now. My stomach growls as the smell of food takes over.

"Nobody is going to take your food, Alex. Slow down," I joke as I take a seat beside him.

Alex waves me off as Nick sips his coffee. He has his laptop open and is fully concentrated on what is on his screen.

"Morning, Nick," I say.

He's standing on the opposite side of the kitchen island, standing as he scrolls through his laptop. He looks up as if confused I am here.

"Oh, afternoon Ro. Didn't hear you come in."

He goes around to where I am sitting and places a kiss on my forehead. Alex looks completely hungover whereas Nick looks like he never even had a sip of liquor last night. His green eyes remind me of Harry's and I wonder if he's feeling as horrible as Alex looks.

"What are you doing?" I ask, getting up to get a plate.

Nick has made eggs, pancakes, and bacon for us. He even squeezed us some fresh orange juice and my mouth waters as I fill my plate. Alex always raves on about how Nick can make even the easiest of food taste delicious. I haven't had a chance to taste his food these past few days since we've been shooting and are usually too tired to cook by the time we come home. Judging from the smell alone, I know Alex was not wrong.

"Oh, uh, the firm emailed us early this morning. Looks like they're taking on a big case and need all hands on deck," he says as he types away.

"What case?" Alex asks, sipping his orange juice.

"The Ray Lino case."

Alex stops eating all together and gets up quickly. Nick moves over as Alex grabs the laptop and his eyes start scanning the screen.
