Aurora
"You know me and my narcissism. I crave the attention," the man, Harry, says back.
Mr. Hayes gets up and they embrace each other briefly then sit down. I decide I might as well stay and wait for one of them to acknowledge me so I can start my day.
"Aurora, right?" Mr. Hayes says, turning to me.
"Yes, Mr. Hayes. Can I get you anything to drink?" I ask, getting ready to scribble something down.
Harry whistles and says, "Mr. Hayes? I thought I craved the attention."
I smile at Harry and he smiles back before Mr. Hayes says, "Quiet, Harold. Some people actually have manners and respect around here. Can I just have water, please, Aurora? It's a business meeting. And, as much as I hate to admit it, he's right. Please drop the Mr. Hayes, it makes me feel ancient. It's Lucas, okay?"
I nod, "Of course. And for you?" I turn to Harry and he glances over the menu and shrugs.
"I'll have a water too. I can't have Mr. Hayes here getting me wasted and take advantage of me," Harry smirks. Lucas rolls his eyes and hides his smile behind his menu.
"Right away, sir." I say to Harry.
"Sir? Hm, I think I like this place. Please, you can call me Mr. Styles." He says leaning back and flashing that annoyingly beautiful smile.
I stifle a laugh and exchange a funny glance with Lucas, "Why, of course, Mr. Styles." I jokingly curtsy and begin to walk away when I hear Harry let out a laugh. I smile and hold in my laugher as I hear Harry tell Lucas, "She's charming, isn't she?"
I'm still smiling when I get to the back and I don't even notice until Ray, our chef, says, "In love, are you?"
I look up at Ray as I'm filling two glasses of water and shake my head, "Who's got time for love nowadays, Ray?"
"Make time for it, sweetheart. It'll be worth your while, just you wait."
I roll my eyes and head back to the table where Harry and Lucas are clearly having a great time. As I approach, Lucas nods at Harry who looks up at me and smirks. I place the waters in front of them and pull out my small notepad from my apron.
"Alright, do you still need a few more minutes or can I take your order, Mr. Styles and Lucas?" I say, smiling.
"Your parents into princesses?" Harry asks, randomly.
I furrow my eyebrows and look between him and Lucas, who seems to be just as confused as I am. "Uh, not to my knowledge?" I reply, hesitantly.
"Man, what the fuck?" Lucas asks, taking a sip of his water.
"Her name is Aurora, mate. Like Sleeping Beauty? I was just curious." Harry shrugs, also sipping his water.
Lucas and I glance at each other again and burst into laughter. I see Luisa from the corner of my eye and try to regain my composure. I put my hand over my mouth and force myself to calm down.
"Mr. Styles, that was by far the weirdest and most random question a customer has ever asked me." I say. Lucas shakes his head and you can see Harry's skin start to turn red up his neck. We've managed to embarrass him and his awkwardness. "I'm named after my grandmother. She passed away a week before I was born so my mom gave me the name of Aurora. I'm not even sure my mom knows who Princess Aurora is." I say, trying to ease away his embarrassment.
"That's sweet," Lucas says, also regaining his composure. "Sorry, Aurora for wasting your time. My friend Harry doesn't get out much. We'll take two chef specials, please."
