"Yeah! Why does she have to be so jealous of me and Adrien? I mean, I get that she's desperately in love with him...but I don't think that gives her the right to threaten me away from him! I'm just as in love with him as she is, but the only difference is that He is in love with ME. Our love is not one sided."

Lila sat in the corner of the room with her classmates huddled around her. Adrien had just walked in, unbeknownst to any of them. The mention of Marinette coming from the liars' lips made his blood boil. He wanted to shed his nice boy skin and let the territorial monster lying beneath tear her to bits. But he couldn't. Because if he acted out, his dad would pull him from school, and he wouldn't be able to make sure that Marinette was alright. So, he sat silently and pretended like he wasn't itching to hit each and every one of them over the head with his staff.

"I don't know about that Lila." Surprise fills Adrien's features as he hears Alix's voice speak up. Did she finally come to her senses?

"Marinette wasn't just in love with Agreste. She was obsessed with him! She would go on and on about plans to cheer him up when he was upset. And she would gather all us girls in her room like a lunatic and create these complicated plans to confess to him. Like, not even a few months ago, we created code names and everything and went out to one of Adrien's photoshoots at the fountain and had a plan and everything for her to confess! Everything went great up to the part when that big baby got akumatized." The boys and girls surrounding Lila cackled at the memory.

Adrien's eyes widened. He remembered that day, Marinette had been in the same place as him. But that couldn't be true. Could it?

Rose continued for Alix, "But afterwards she had the chance to ride with him in his limo and she passed up the chance! She told us she'd rather ride with us in the back of the -."

Rose trailed off and then scrounged up her eyebrows. Lila, noticing the hesitation to insult Marinette, immediately stepped in. "Wow, she was probably feeling guilty for being so creepy! As she should. Planning those things out is just plain obsessive. You know, in Prince Ali's kingdom..."

Adrien turned this information over in his mind as Alya walked in. Apparently, she heard the last part of the conversation because her face was straight up murderous. Upon seeing this, Adrien felt that protective feeling bubble up in his gut. If what they were saying was true, and even if it wasn't, that's a personal secret and shouldn't be shared unless the owner of those feelings allowed it to.

Alya stomped over to the back of the room and slammed her hands on the desk in front of Rose. "How dare you share such a personal secret like that!" she yelled, "Mad at Marinette or not, that was a deep secret, and it was extremely shallow of you to out her like that!"

She pointed her finger at Nino. "And YOU!" Nino backed into his chair. "Shame on you for allowing this to continue. You should know better than to let that happen. Marinette was nothing but nice to you all. Ignoring her and treating her like dirt is one thing but sharing her secrets that she TRUSTED YOU WITH-" she glared at the girls, "is plain traitorous. While you sit here and laugh at her, know that even with you hurting her FOR NO GOOD reason, she would never spill your secrets. She sat and treated you all like kings and queens even though she was your equal and you pay her back with this? Shame on you all." Alya stomped off.

They stood there in silence. Which was rare considering that Lila usually had trouble keeping her mouth shut.

Adrien stared at the ceiling. Contemplating his next move. He should have never heard this conversation. Alya basically confirmed that what they were saying, at least for the most part, was true. So, if Marinette was actually in love with him... He blushed furiously. That explained why she always seemed so uncomfortable around him. She didn't hate him. He smiled to himself. A plan forming in his mind.

~ Later that night ~

Chat Noir perches on the edge of an apartment building that, usefully, was a good distance away from the balcony of the person he'd been looking forward to seeing all day. As he watched her, he had the intrusive thought that bothered him greatly- 'Does this make me a stalker?' Yes. It does.

Chat shook his head. It wasn't like he was doing this in some creepy way. He sat on this roof because he had to follow his plan. He had to help his friend. His beautiful, blue eyed, delicate, sweet, sweet, Marinette.

'Alright.' He gathered up his courage and let the brave feeling sweep over his senses. It was far past the right time to do this. With or without a mask, he was determined to provide the support his friend needed.

Once he rethought this one last time, he leapt.
