"I call the last hit!" George shouted, as the two reached the middle pillar. The Ender Dragon's deafening roars almost completely drowned out his yell.
Dream shot a backwards glance at him, "Ugh, fine!" (cough simp cough) He grumbled, not wasting time protesting as he slashed at the dragon's underbelly. Purple blood spilled from the gash wounds inflicted on the soft underbelly of the dragon. She let out an inhuman screech in pain as she was brutally injured.
Dream was covered in the still warm blood, but he didn't seem to mind all that much, mainly ignoring it as he focused on defeating the mob boss. George hurried to help him, dodging the attempts of the ender dragon's to throw him into the air away from her.
And as he reached up with his iron sword and managed to slice a crescent wound through her throat, the infamous Ender Dragon was dead.
A bone rattling crackling noise pierced the two boy's heads, forcing them to drop their weapons and cover their ears in a pathetic attempt at muffling the sound. Bright, white and purple rays shot out from the dragon's body as the carcass rose in the air, gradually beginning to decay at a rapid speed before exploding into a million particles of glowing balls that fell to the ground around their feet.
George and Dream cautiously uncovered their ears as the world around them grew silent. Only the few phrases of nearby enderman sounded in the absence of the dragon's roars and wing beats.
Dream turned to George and let out a loud whoop, grasping the smiling brunette in a crushing hug and spinning him around. George laughed and cheered as they celebrated their victory.
They had done it. They were going home.
Dream finally set down George, who grinned as he dusted himself off. The two smiled at each other before the reality of their victory finally hit them fully.
The excited mood greatly simmered down as they thought of what this meant. They wouldn't see each other for a while once they were back.
George must have sensed Dream's sudden somber mood and knowingly placed a hand on his shoulder. "We'll see each other soon. We can figure something out." He comforted, he gazed up at Dream's downcast emerald eyes.
The blonde sighed in defeat, looking up to meet George's eyes. "I know. But it won't be for a while you know. If you really want to live with me and Sapnap, you have to have your visa approved and who knows how long that'll take." He ran a hand through his blond hair as he spoke.
George's small smile curled into a slight frown. "Time will fly. Before you know it, I'll be there in Florida with you in what'll seem like a few days."
"You don't know that."
"I do."
Dream sighed, turning to look into the same starry abyss of the portal that had been in the stronghold. His mind was a tangled mess as he thought of what their whole life was going to be like. What it would mean for them and Sapnap as well.
"George." He started, sliding into a sitting position beside the middle pillar as he began to speak his mind. The brunette copied his action, leaning his head on the blonde's shoulder. "What, Dream?"
"What does this mean for us?" Dream asked, resting his head on top of George's as well. They both stared at the portal as they conversed, enjoying their last few moments together for a long time as much as they could.
"What do you mean?" George said, confused.
"What, what would you call.. Us?" Dream struggled to ask, almost embarrassed.
He could practically hear George smile. "Are you asking me to be your boyfriend?"
Dream huffed in defeat, "Maybe." He grumbled.
George lifted his head to stare smugly up at Dream, "Maybe? How about you try that again?" He basked in Dream's embarrassment, grinning as the blonde covered his mouth to try to compose himself before speaking again.
Dream glared at him in response, "You're being annoying."
George had the audacity to pretend to be offended, lifting a hand mockingly to his chest to further emphasize his point, "Oh, I'm being annoying?"
Dream placed his face in his hands, resting his elbows on his legs. He mumbled insanities under his breath before looking back up.
And in a few swift motions he had both him and George up on their feet and then to George's stunned face, he was on one knee.
"George, oh, George." Dream said, resting his crossed forearms across his thigh, and looking up. "Will you be my boyfriend?" He imitated the motion of opening a ring box in the air before them and fluttered his eyelashes coyly at George.
George shook his head, the surprised expression long gone and now replaced with playful annoyance. "You're an idiot, you know?" He reached down to pull Dream up, but the blond didn't budge.
"You didn't answer my question." Dream fake pouted, making his bottom lip tremble slightly. (the enderman rn: 👁👄👁)
George scoffed, a certain fondness in his breath. "Yes. I would love to be your boyfriend." He replied, crossing his arms. "Happy?" He huffed, raising an eyebrow as Dream finally got to his feet.
"Yep." Dream said, and with a smug smile George thought looked suspicious and turned out to be right, he was brought into a sweet kiss. But he gladly accepted it. The two stood there in the dark air of the end island, pouring love into each other in an action that gave them both butterflies in their stomachs. But then all too soon, Dream pulled away, leaving George's lips begging for more.
"We have to go." Dream stated the awaiting obvious and George sighed.
"I know."
"Count of three?" Dream asked, them both getting deja vu from before the beginning of the end.
"Count of three." George played along. Taking a deep breath to prepare himself for the real world once again.
Dream started to count down, linking their hands together again, and pulling George closer to the edge of the portal.
"One." They closed their eyes.
"Two." Took a deep calming breath.
"Three." And jumped.
–
Dream gasped, sitting up quickly in the darkness and trying to get a grasp on his surroundings. His heart pounded and he felt as if he had lived a hundred lifetimes in one day, cold sweat was gathered on his body and he shivered as the blankets slid off of him.
"No, no, no!" He mumbled, running a hand down his face to dispel the beads of sweat.
It can't have just been a dream. There's no way.
He quickly glanced down at his wrist, tapping the cold screen of his watch to wake it. Only then did the crushing weight of reality really set in. It was the day before his scheduled recording with George and Sapnap. His computer shutting down was only a part of his dream.
His dream.
Everything. Was just a dream.
I'm not sorry.
Why sad? Happy. -Gii >:]
