George fell through the air into the darkness, the creeper explosion pushed him all the other way to the other side of the cavern. And to his great relief the force of the impact shot him into a side cave where he landed and knocked himself up badly.

But he was alive. If that cave hadn't been there, he would be dead right now. He would be falling straight into a very painful death, and Lord knows how it would look for Dream. His body broken and bleeding before the blond as he swam over to him, only to find him dead. What would Dream do? Would he scream in grief or sadness or maybe fear? What would happen to George? Would he be sent back home? Or to spawn? What gamemode were they even on?

George took in uneven breaths as he assessed the damage he had received from the explosion and the fall. He stood up shakily, grasping his wounded arm and limped over to the edge to see where he was and if the water below was still accessible.

Dream was nowhere to be seen, the height from where George was at, was still relatively far up, he hadn't even fallen a quarter of the way down. He took in a shaky breath and tried to battle the panic settling in.

He should be thinking rationally, not panicking. He closed his eyes for a second to gather his thoughts and then turned to check behind him for threats in the dark cave arm he was in. But he could see and hear nothing, so for the moment he was safe.

Next, he ate a bit of his food and waited for his wounds to heal just enough that he wouldn't be completely in pain, he only had a few mutton and steak so he had to eat it sparingly.

Afterwards, George felt much better. He took in a breath and relaxed a bit as it was no longer painful to do so. He glanced once more down at the far-off water and realized it was still accessible if he bridged over a bit.

He did so and then took a deep breath before he jumped. Fear spiked through him as his body cut through the air, he spun slightly and had to quickly right himself so that he would know where to land.

He held his breath as he hit the water feet first, the impact stung his feet as he splashed underwater, the cold water sucking the warmth from his already chilled body from the fall in mere seconds. The bubbles floated upwards in a flash around him as he recovered from what he had just done.

George pumped his arms and feet as he swam to the surface, shaking his head to dispel the water from his eyes so he could see. The leather armor on his feet and chest weighed him down a bit and he quickly made it over to the stone hugging the pond and pulled himself up heavily out of the water.

He laid there for a second on his back, taking in a few calming breaths as he gazed upwards at the sky far above, a few stars twinkling merrily above.

A splash from in front of him made him shoot upwards to see what it was. He flinched before realizing it was Dream, who resurfaced and quickly swam over to him.

George opened his mouth to speak before he was pulled into a crushing, wet hug. His nose squished into Dream's leather clad chest as the blond hugged him. "I thought you were dead, oh my gosh my heart." Dream gasped out, squeezing the brunette a bit tighter.

George pushed him away after a moment, "Dead? I thought you had died or something!" He said, his voice raised a bit.

Dream did a double take, "What? I saw you get blown into here by that creeper or whatever and land in a side cave. I was climbing up over there to go help you! I was sure you were dead." Dream pointed over to where a couple dirt blocks were placed in a tower. It led up to almost more than halfway to the cave George had jumped from.

George shook his head, "Well." He replied breathlessly, "I'm flattered." He joked, fluttering his eyes up at Dream kneeled beside him, turning the somber mood into a lighter one.
