Chapter 7- Battle of the Bands
Today is the day. I am very nervous. This is my first time to perform on stage. I used to sing just in front of my family, friends and as well as to my relatives.
"Kaaaaaash!" Phyllis called me and he rested his arm on my shoulders.
“Gosh! O-oh, Phyllis!" I awkwardly smiled at him. Duh! I still remembered what he said when he called me last time. It was like the memories that were flashing back into my mind every time I see him, most especially when he's near to me.
"Are you ready for later? You look pale, are you alright?" He asked me. He checked my temperature by touching my neck and forehead.
"A-ah I'm fine." I said while stopping him from checking me up.
"Are you sure? Have you taken your breakfast already?" He asked.
"Ah yes. A-ahm, I need to go see you later" I simply replied.
"Okay?" He replied while looking at me as if I am the weirdest person he met in his life. Gosh! It's embarrassing but what will I do? I just feel really awkward with him.

"So, this would be our last song. Enjoy!" said the lead vocalist of one of the bands, named Serenity, who joined the battle of the bands. After they performed, we were the next band to show what we've got.
"Thank you for the great performance, Serenity! May we call on the next performer…The Mad4It!!" The host said. We went to stage and arranged the musical instruments we were going to use.
"Mic test…mic test." Glenn tested the microphone. After we checked all the instruments, we got ready for our first song.
"Hi, everyone! I am Kashimira" I introduced myself.
"I'm hottest Phyllis". Phyllis introduced himself then winked.
"Glenn is my name" Glenn introduced himself then smiled.
"I am Troy" Troy introduced himself then waved his hand.
"I am the handsome Keville" Keville introduced himself then he winked and smirked.
"We are the Mad4It!!" We said in unison.
"We will sing three songs. Two songs that we composed and the other one song will be a surprise." Phyllis said then he winked at the audience. I looked at them shockingly. They didn't tell me that we will sing three songs!
"What the?! What's the last song we will sing?!" I asked Phyllis.
"Secret ! Just trust us" He said then winked at me. Gosh! I don't want to embarrass myself!
"The first song was entitled Red Black, Love Hate. Enjoy!" I said cheerfully.
I get on with life as a singer,
I'm a handsome kind of person.
I like singing on Sundays,
I like jamming in the week.
I like to contemplate black.
But when I start to daydream,
My mind turns straight to red.
Oh oh oh!
Sometimes I look at myself and I look into my eyes,
I notice the way I think about red with a smile,
Curved lips I just can't disguise.
But I think it's black making my life worthwhile.
Why is it so hard for me to decide which I love more?
Black or...
Red?
I like to use words like 'Super,'
I like to use words like 'Damn'
I like to use words about black.
But when I stop my talking,
My mind turns straight to red.

At first, I was too nervous to sing. I'm afraid that I might embarrass our band but when I've heard them cheering so loud for us, my lips automatically curved and formed a smile.
I can hear them chanting our names. As I finished singing our second song, I looked up and closed my eyes and said to my mind, "Thank you, Lord."
After the second song, Phyllis came to me and he got the microphone from me. So, he will be the vocalist for the last song? He will sing? Oh my! I've turned my back and went to his place and played the guitar but before I took a step backward, he already grabbed my wrist.
"Stay here." He said when he looked at me.
"So, this would be our last song for our performance. I dedicated this song to a girl here in the venue. To the girl who captured my eyes. To the girl who does nothing but she makes me fall in love with her. To the girl beside me. This is for you Kash." He said then he smiled at me. For me? He will sing a song for me? I've captured his eyes, really? He falls in love with me?
"Ayieeeeeeeee" The audience teased us.
"This song was entitled You're Mine" Phyllis said then Keville, Troy, and Glenn started to play their instruments.

"I am proud to tell everyone that I like you. It was a great feeling to know that the world knows how much I love you. Kash, I am more than willing to do everything for you. I can do anything to prove my love for you if you will just let me. I just want to inform you that starting now, whether you like it or not, I will still going to court you. I love you, Kash. I love you so much." Phyllis said after he sang the song. I was so speechless. I can see that he's sincere through his eyes. I smiled and hugged him.
"Thank you" I whispered.
At the end of the day, the host announced the winners for the battle of the bands. We are so happy because we are the champion. All the efforts are worth it. Everything happened today was still too much to digest for me.
