 CHAPTER 2 –The Alpha—

I bolted up right from where I was sitting. I noticed that I was in a study and I was covered in a sheen of sweat. I heard male voices coming down the hall, and without thinking or even paying attention to the voices to see who it was I went over to the desk and grabbed the letter opener, that was in the shape of a knife and had a moon on the handle, for protection.

The second the door opened I let it go flying toward the door in a throw that was so straight and true that if the person didn't see it coming it would hit them right in the chest. But of course he saw it coming. Before I could register who it was I grabbed something else and was about to fling it at him, that was when I recognized the Beta that stopped me when I crossed their Pack lines.

That's when everything else came back.

"Thank god." I slumped to the ground and began to calm my breathing. "I'm sorry I thought that you were him." I was still panting and I hoped that they could understand me.

"Get up and sit back down on the couch so that our Alpha can speak to you." I nodded but kept my head down. When I got to the couch and was sitting I was trying to pull the t-shirt further down, but it wouldn't go any further than a little bit below my butt cheeks. "Now explain why-"

"I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention to any Pack territories, as I was running away from the Rogues that were chasing me, and I crossed into your lands before I could even register. I was just about to turn around when I ran into you and your patrols. I apologize. I'll leave soon, or will now, if you like." I heard a growl once I finished. Out of instinct I flinched and cowered away.

Someone crouched down in front of me and I could feel the heat emanating off of him. "What is your name?" I shivered. What was that?

Look at him and you'll understand.

I didn't listen to her and kept my head down. "Leighton Redwood." I barley said it out loud that I hoped that they didn't hear, but of course being werewolf's they heard. I heard a gasp from both of them which made me look up at them.

The second I locked eyes with the man in front of me I felt like I was floating on cloud nine. He was absolutely handsome. He has blond hair with Amber eyes and a well defined body. The shirt he was wearing I could tell that he had an eight pack. I could also tell that he was checking me out while I was doing the same to him. I reached down and lifted his shirt up and looked at his stomach as it flexed as the cool air grazed across his flesh. I wonder what it feels like. Before I could touch him I was startled, and so was he, out of our own little world. I pulled back instantly and apologized.

"Alpha what's going on with the Rogue?" He looked utterly confused.

"Mate," was all he growled. I recoiled back from him and backed away my body that somehow got closer to him.

"Hell no." Was all I could get out. Both their faces snapped towards me. "I didn't mean it that way...I-I-I-I-I-I......ummmm....." I started floundering around for words and I wound up brining up my legs onto the couch and sitting on them after I put them to the side of my body. After I did that I began running my fingers through my hair.

"What do you mean by it then?" He was pissed I could tell. I moved away from him and all the way on the other side of the couch away from him. "What are you-" He cut off. I think he could tell that by him doing that it was scaring me. I watched him take a deep breath and then look at me. All the anger and everything else was gone. "Are you the Leighton Rose Redwood from the New Bay Pack in Main?"
