Chapter 4

Chapter 4 –First day fever—

After Niko-Nicki was able to talk with all the tutors the day before I was happy that I got to stay here with him during the day and not have to be around other people. Waking up after the best night's sleep that I have had in a long time was probably the best thing that I needed. When I opened my eyes I came face to face with an arm. I knew who it belonged to, and it made a better pillow than the one that I had previously.

Needing to go to the bathroom I slid his other arm from my waste and eased out of the bed. I quickly went to the bathroom. When I was washing my hands I noticed the water was steaming from my hands. I knew that it wasn't the water, it was ice cold, which only meant that I was going into my heat. This was going to be hard to control. It would only last for a week but it would make me irritable and winey all at once. Before I could think of anything else there was a knock on the bedroom door.

Opening the bathroom door I saw Niko open the main door and in the frame was Emmika. I was wondering what she was doing here. When she saw me over his shoulder I saw her move her lips and he let her into the room and closed the door behind her as she walked over to me. "Morning Luna, I was wondering if we could talk." I nodded and went over to the small sofa that was in there with the wooden coffee table that already had breakfast waiting for us to eat. As I sat down with Niko behind me, she took the seat that would face the two of us. I grabbed a piece of buttered bread and began to rip it apart and eat. It was something to do to keep me preoccupied while she told us why she was here.

"Well I have good news and bad news. Which would you like first?"

"Good." "Bad." We said at the same time.

"Bad news first, it's about me so I get the choice." I could feel his irritation behind me, but I knew that I was my choice and not his.

"Well you were very malnourished when you came here which had adverse effects on what your body can handle. You can train but not the extent to become a Lunar Warrior, but close. If, and when, you get pregnant you will be on strict bed rest and watched very closely towards the end of it." I felt Niko tighten behind me as he heard that. I could feel his disappointment radiating from behind me.

"The good news." I could feel his desperation behind me at what could make this better. I wanted to know too.

"The good news is that if you two mate fully on her first heat together it could, more than likely, reverse everything and make it less dangerous for any pregnancy. If you don't do that it would be detrimental to any children that you have. They will be weaker and sickly. More than likely they will die."

"So, in other words is was bad news, followed by more bad news. There was never any good news was there?" I couldn't keep myself from scoffing.

"Well yes," before she finished Niko got up and began to pace and growl at the same time.

"You were going to say something else?" Ignoring Niko, I focused on Emmika and waited for her to focus back on me.

"Right." She shook her head and focused solely on me. "From the fact that you told me that you have five heats a year, and that is extraordinary in general, it makes it almost one hundred percent that you would heal completely. Your healing will go back up to normal, most of your scars will disappear, besides the ones that are very deep, and you won't have to be watched so closely with any pregnancy."

"Are you sure? How do you know that this will work?" I wasn't even paying attention to what Niko was doing, or the fact that he was focusing fully on what we were talking about.
