Chapter 5—Time jump Suckers—

The last five years have been complete and total bliss. Once I graduated from high school I was able to go and get my associates degree in business to where I could be of some use to Niko. I knew that I needed to be useful. The last three years were almost like a dream. I was surprised that I was able to make three friends in this pack, even before they knew who my mate was.

Carlin moved here during her senior year. When her parents were waiting for a housing assignment from Niko they were staying in the pack house. I met her on accident. I was coming back in from training and was heading in for a shower before I started on my online schooling. When I got into the kitchen I was met with the largest mess that I had ever seen. There was flour, sugar, and any other powdery substance you could think of to cook, or bake with all over the place. She was standing in the middle of everything and looked completely lost. I would up helping her instead of taking a shower. The next four weeks we met when she was out of school and we just did normal things.

When her family finally met me they wanted to have dinner with me, but they were having it with Niko. They thought that they would get into trouble for adding another person to dinner. I said that he would love it and they wouldn't get in trouble. When they told him that everyone could hear how pissed he was. I came into the room laughing. When he saw me he relaxed. Before he could do, or say, anything, or anyone else in the room, I walked over to him and took the seat right next to him and grabbed his water glass and drank out of it. If I could have recorded everyone's expressions in that room it would have made the funniest movie ever. Once their shock wore off they did well during the dinner, and the subsequent ones after.

Then came Harley. She was a pack member that wasn't really interested in any pack life. When she had to come to the ceremony to welcome Carlin's family to the pack, I ran into her and spilled her punch over my clothes. She apologized, as did I, and we had a good laugh. When I told her that there was nothing to worry about. She insisted that she pay for it to be cleaned, which I laughed at. I asked her if anyone even did that anymore, and told her that my clothes didn't need to be dry cleaned. When she told me that my clothes were couture and that they needed to be I thought that she was lying to me. I had her come with me up to my room and have her look at my clothes and tell me if they all were like that, or if it was only the shirt I was wearing that was.

When we got to the door she was hesitant to come in. When I told her that it was fine I walked over to the closet and went in to change and throw my clothes into the hamper before I came back out. As I left my closet right where I left Harley, Niko was staring right at her and growling. When I asked what was going on he said that she came into the room without permission. Telling him that I gave her permission was enough to calm him down. After that she became my friend as well as Carlin's.

Then a year ago Mena came. She was visiting our pack with her pack when she found her mate, who happened to be Austin. We didn't get along as first because she thought that I was trying to get with Austin because of how close we acted. No matter how many times that we told her that we weren't an item, and we only saw each other as siblings as such, she didn't believe us. When she saw Niko she told him of her suspicion's and all he did was laugh. Which is how Austin and I found him, laughing while Mena looked like she was getting made fun of. When he told us what he was just told I just looked at her and rolled my eyes while Austin moved toward her. She just pulled away from him.

I finally realized why she thought that I was coming after him. She never saw my mark. That is when I started to laugh. They all turned toward me and when I pulled my shirt off and showed her my mark she turned the deepest scarlet that I have ever seen. When Niko and Austin saw what I was doing, and what caused me to laugh they began to laugh with me. As the three of us were laughing she tried to leave but I stopped her and told her to watch. I walked over to Niko and kissed him. He wrapped me in his arms and pulled me to his lap. As I pulled away I looked at Mena and saw that she understood everything now.
