A thirteen-year-old girl stood at the entrance of the Kaurava camp. She was eagerly waiting for Mata Vrushali, Vrishasena, Vrishaketu, and Laxman to come and meet her. She wondered what happened during the cremation of Kakashree. But she also had shocking news to tell them.
This girl was none other than Duryodhankanya Lakshmana. They're taking longer than usual. Lakshmana thought. They should be back by now. Lakshmana started to become worried. What if something terrible has happened? Did the Pandavas catch them? No, no, no!
Lakshmana's heart skipped a beat. She felt as if she could faint. At that moment, Vrishaketu came bounding up a slope. They're okay! Vrishaketu was followed by Bhratashree Laxman, then Bhratashree Vrishasena.
Lakshmana peered over them, trying to find Mata Vrushali. She walked up to the trio. "Where's Mata, Vrish?" turning her head towards Vrishasena. She noticed the sadness in his eyes. Oh no! Did something bad happen to mata? Lakshmana thought.
"Vrishasena, what is it?" Lakshmana asked in a soothing you-can-trust-me voice. "M-M-Mata," Vrishasena started to say. "Mata," Lakshmana prompted. "Mata committed sati," Vrishasena finished. No wonder, they're sad! Lakshmana started to break down.
This can't be happening! Mata?! Why?! No, no, no! This is even more shocking than the news I had to share! I-I can't live without her. Maybe...No! No, why are you even thinking about it Lakshmana! Vrishaketu needs you! Laxman needs you! Vrishasena needs you!
Lakshmana gulped. "I-I have to t-t-tell you something," They all looked up at Lakshmana. "What is it, Lakshmana?" Laxman asked. "The Pandavas are performing a yagna, to get back the people they've lost."
"Maybe, Kakashree is back!" Laxman jumped in joy. "Let's check!" Vrishaketu said, the excitement clearly visible on his face. All agreed and snuck to the yagna. Bhishma, Dronacharya, Shikhandini, Dhristadyumna, Drupad, Virat, Uttar, Abhimanyu, and the Upapandavas. No, Kakashree's not there?!
Lakshmana noticed that everyone was by a baby. It was sleeping in Abhimanyu's arms. He must be the father. Then that means, Lakshmana glanced at the woman beside him. It was Uttara. "Tara" she muttered. They used to be friends, but ever since Tatshree Vikarna died, they ended their friendship. Looks like the baby is her son, Parikshit.
A handsome man with a flute and peacocks around him caught her eyes. He was sitting on a long couch. Right next to him was Yajnaseni Draupadi. But the man caught her attention the most. He had a jar of Makhan beside him. There was a peacock feather on his crown. She glanced at the boys beside her. Looks like they're interested too. Who is he? She never met him. Nor did Lax, Vrishu, or Vrish. Who is this mysterious man?
