Seven Years Later
Arjun POV
It was a scorching sunny day. Arjun was sitting in the stands of an enormous sports arena. The rangbhoomi had sandy ground and, in the audience, lavish seats for the rich. Not very lavish seats for the poor, however. Arjun looked around the enormous stadium. He had built this. Or at least ordered it to be built. Maharathi Arjuna Rangbhoomi is a sports arena that everyone came to see. There were five sections. The first one was the Swords Arena. All the swordsmen competed there. The second was the Mace Arena. The third was the Spear Arena. And the fourth one was the Archery Arena. The fifth arena was the arena for the eight finalists. Everyone especially gathered around the Archery Arena to try and find out which Kshatriya would be the next Arjun.
Everyone had their bets on his son, Abhimanyu. Some people also thought Shrutakarma may be better than his youngest son, but Arjun knew in his heart that Abhi was better. Abhimanyu reminded him of his young self. He remembered vividly that day at Rangbhoomi. He was an arrogant, skillful prince, with no war experience. However, he was loved by everyone. Abhimanyu was like him but he had war experience and was more talented than he could ever be. Abhi was also loved by everyone.
Arjun sighed. The Maharathi Arjuna Rangbhoomi was open to all castes. Ever since the incident with Jyestha Karna, Arjun persuaded the court to allow this. His mind trailed back to the two sons of his Jyestha. He could only remember the face of the younger one as he was the one who shot down his chariot. What was his name? Oh! Yes! Vrishaketu. It's been seven years now. He wondered where they were. As if this was a cue, Mahadav appeared next to him.
"What are you thinking Parth?" he asked. Arjun sighed, yet again. He was in his middle ages. And he was starting to feel the toll of old age. "About Jyestha Karna's two sons, Mahadav," he said. He then realized. Mahadav always seems to know where people are. "Mahadav, do you know where Jyestha's youngest son, Vrishaketu is?" he asked, hopefully. "I don't know Parth," he said, Krishna saw Parth's head droop, and then said, "But he is closer than you think." Arjun was confused. He heard the horn blow it was time for the competition.
