When Charlie had arrived at home, she first pealed out of the soaking wet clothing and changed in something more comfortable. She than went to Mitch's room. She knocked and peeked inside, seeing her cousin brigth awake with headphones on.

Mitch sighed in relief "Thank god. Where have you been?" she made room for the brunette to sit down "I've been with Pope and John. They surfed the surge and then we dropped of Pope."

The blonde looked at Charlie, waiting for her to continue, but nothing came. "And than?" Charlie shrugged, avoiding eyecontact "Nothing."

"Oh don't even try that bullshit on me. I'm not our parents, you can't lie to me."

So Charlie told Mitch what happend with John B, ending up on the floor infront of the bed while Mitch braided her hair. Rigth when they were switching places, there was a knock on the door. Soon Ape entered the room with three cups in his hands. "You mind some company? I made hot chocolate."

Their Grandpa sat on the pillow coverd armchair and got filled in about everything he had missed.

Ever since Charlie's Father had left when she was only five, Ape had took his place and since the family lived together they trusted each other so much that they could talk about everything. Even though Mitch and Charlie went to Ape more often then to their parents.

Only this time, Mitch decided to keep it to herself that she had an, in her eyes, really comfortable car ride home. Rafe had waited for her outside the country club when her shift was over. He wanted to open the car door for her as the blond looked at him „I can do that Rafe." a sligth smirked had formed on his lips as he walked to the drivers side and got in.

„And before you think anything else. This is not a date. It's a favor." his smirk formed into a grin. That was exactly what he needed, to get her to go out with him. Rafe would sooner or later ask Mitch to return the favor.

They had a little smalltalk, the boy sneaking in a few quetions to get to know her better, which Mitch didn't miss out on but went along with it. When they had arived at the blue painted house he parked and looked over at her as she got out of the car „That was fun. You should let me drive you more often." Mitch couldn't hold her smile, so she acted as if it was just in a friendly manner „Thanks for the ride Cameron." she walked backwards watching the boy that leaned out of his window and wiggled his finger playfully like a girl waving goodbye to her bestie.

Mitch knew that Charlie would be the last person to judge her, but she also knew that she wasn't the biggest fan of the Cameron's. At all this wasn't the rigth moment to tell her that.

„So you offically tell us that you like John B?" Mitch asked. As an answer she got a nod and an sad sigth. „Why wouldn't you tell me?" Charlie had her eyes on her fingers. „If I had told you, than it would had been true. I didn't want it to be true because I didn't want things to change. And now I told HIM, as if that would be any better." She slapped her hands on her face and fell back on the bed „God I'm so stupid. What the fuck is wrong with me."

Ape sat beside her und stroke her arm „I'm sure nothing is gonna change."

A few hours of sleep later Ape, Mitch and Charlie were in the backyard cleaning up some of the mess. "Okay so we don't have any electricity or service." Mitch came out of the house and looked around while Charlie helped Ape flipping over the Hollywood swing.

"We have to get the cooler in a cool place in the house and put everything from the fridge inside." Ape said faning some air to his face with his baseball cap.
