Being a seventeen year old girl and saying I love you for the first time, is an unusual concept for anyone in this day and age. However, to me it is not. In-fact, it happened so soon ago, that I remember it clearly, just as it should be; how I wish it to be for anyone.
A perfect moment, ruined by an unpredictable interruption.

"Josh stop it!" I squealed, wiping the sloppy cake mixture from my face, glaring playfully in Josh's direction.
"Never!" He called over his back, flinging some flour towards me.
"That's it." I grabbed a raw egg, sprinting to his side before he realised what I'd slyly planned in my head.
"You wouldn't."
"Oh believe me love, I would." I whispered, forcefully cracking the egg to his head, unable to stop the giggles that soon followed, as I watched egg white drip from his nose, onto his chin.
"Oh god! You're... Oh my god!" I cried, kneeling over and clutching my stomach.
"Just as well I love you Richards." He chuckled.
What caught my attention wasn't the fact he'd called me by my last name, but the use of the usually dreaded "L" word.
"Just as well I love you too, Jacobs." I replied, sealing the moment with a sweet, gentle kiss.
As if on cue, his phone began to ring. I thought this a little strange, seeing as it was a little after eleven at night (yes we were attempting to bake at this time).
"Hello?" A pause. "Hang on, calm down! What's wrong Tessa?"
My stomach dropped at the sound of my Mum's name; I had a feeling I knew what this was going to be about.
Going by the mixture of emotions going across Josh's face, I had a feeling I was right.
"Okay. Right. Yes, she's with me, I'll tell her now. No, no. I understand why you called me first. Okay, bye." Hanging up the phone, he turned toward me, taking my hands in his own.
"Baby, it's your Dad. It's not looking good. We're going to have to get a flight to New Zealand. It's serious."
Tears threatened to spill, but I held them back, trying to keep myself together.
"Best book a holiday then." I tried to laugh, going to grab the laptop.
As I passed Josh, he caught my wrist, pulling me into a hug.
"I'm here for you, just remember that."
