The Fight

Why do people actually result in calling women "whore*once they are quarreling? I'm not generalizing, but if a man chykes (asks you out) and you say no, the next thing he calls you is "Ashawo" (Prostitute).
If a woman argues with you, next she is throwing the word "Ashawo" around. It would never make sense to me, but what do I know?

Have you ever experienced this? How did you feel? How did you react to it?

If you do this, please stop. Slut shaming a woman for any reason is the lowest at the bar. Grow up and stop acting like a child, Biko

Ade's POV

As she walked away from us, a small smirk was spread across my face. I love me a woman who wouldn't let another throw her under the bus or step on her. I'm fascinated by how calm and fierce she can be at the same time.

You stood there and watch that thing slap me and you did nothing right? You let her lay her filthy hands on your girlfriend? Are you even man enough?

Gina was on her usual rant and I can't deal with her tantrums today. Today is Saturday and I have got to visit my family today, then head over to watch football later with the boys, and I don't want to do that in a foul mood.

You can't just barge into my house and start calling people names. By the way, I have warned you to stop coming to my house without my permission, who even let you in? I need to have a word with that person. Now get out and don't you come back here. I don't want to see you anywhere near me or in my house, do you understand?

Ade, are you asking me to leave your house just because of that thing?

She isn't a thing and she is by far better than you. Now get out before I throw you out myself.

Ade, you will regret this I promise you.

That was her last statement before she stormed out of my house. Gina is someone you shouldn't underrate but I'm not going to think about her at the moment, as I have a bigger fight to face.

I walked into the house to find the woman who has started taking long walks in my head, just a few moments with her, and I'm fascinated by her.

Throwback to when I brought her home last night

Ade: Hey, where is your house so I can drop you off before heading home

Uchenna: I don't know joor

Ade: Woman, I don't have all the time in the world, I have to drop you off, before heading back to see someone.

She makes a pout and starts laughing and I'm drawn by her laughter, not too loud, but also not too quiet. Her skin was dark as chocolate, her hair was thick black and her face was straight with her pointed nose, as I took in this woman who has fallen asleep in my car, I felt my third leg harden.

Now she has fallen asleep and I don't know her house. I'm not one to bring a stranger to my house, but I couldn't also leave her there. So I drove straight to my apartment and carried her bridal style up to my guest bedroom. She wrapped her tiny hands around my neck and at that moment, her scent filled my nostrils. Strawberry, but it has been mixed with alcohol. I guess she didn't take just one bottle.

As I got into the bedroom and laid her on the bed, I took off her shoes, contemplated taking off her clothes, but I wouldn't do that.

I would have asked Martha, my staff to help, but earlier today she had requested permission to go home as her brother was returning from school.

I covered her with a blanket and made to leave, before I hear her gently say, "don't go, please stay". Hearing her say that did things to me, I wasn't expecting. So I laid beside her and she snuck closer to me and I wrapped by hands around her tiny waist.

Back to the present moment

As I stepped into the room, I say her seated at the edge of the bed, hands crossed across her chest and a frown on her face and I knew this would take more than begging to fix.

Ade: Hey, I'm sorry about that.

Uchenna: What exactly are you sorry about? Trying to have sex with me, when you have a girlfriend? Or watching her call me names without you reprimanding her?

Ade: I said I'm sorry. I didn't know she was going to come over and she isn't my girlfriend. I broke up with her.
Can we continue from where we stopped? Please.

Uchenna: What do you mean? I don't want to have sex with you again? I want to go home, where are my things?

Ade: Okay, I will drop you at your place. Let me get my car keys.

Uchenna: I don't want you to drop me, I can find my way home. I'm not your responsibility.

Ade: I know you are angry and you have every right to be, but let me take you home.

Uchenna: Okay!

I walked into my room to get my car keys, so I could drop her off. Dealing with a woman's wrath is not one I'm cut out for today

When I came out she was waiting by the stairs and I held out my hand for her, but she ignored it and walked away.
When we got to the car, I asked for her address and she gave me and I inputted it on the car GPS.

Unlike what it was in Lagos, there was less traffic and we got to her house in an hour.

"Thanks for taking me home", was the last thing she said before walking out of the car, without looking back.

I smiled and knew at that moment, I want to see her again.

I drove off to my parents' house with the thought of her lingering in my head.
