The music thumped behind the door as we approached Brandi's apartment. The apartment was just a block and a half down from where Ry lives so it is in a nice walking distance.
Brandi shares with two roommates so it is in a bigger, and I would say fancier, place than Ryder's apartment. The door was decorated with criss cross yellow caution tape and bloody handprints.
"Shall we?" Dakota gestured as he turned the knob and opened the door into the blacklit atmosphere.
Walking in, there was a light fog in the air. There were fake cobwebs hanging from the corners of the wall, a skeleton pirate standing in one of the corners, a decorated table with a bowl of punch and chips, and more Halloween decor to finish the Halloween vibe in the apartment.
"Hey!" Brandi's voice shrilled from my left. I turned and she wrapped her arms around me. "Nice costumes! Glad you could make it!" She said loudly over the music.
"Of course! You look great" I told her as she pulled away. Her Princess Peach outfit looked perfect on her.
"Thank you!" She beamed "Hayden is around here somewhere" she waved her hand around "But get a drink and have some fun!" She yelled happily making us laugh before she whisked away to another couple who walked through the door.
"Want a drink?" Ry whispered against my ear. I shivered from his breath tickling my skin.
"I would love one" I turned my head to the others. "Guys, want some drinks?"
All of them said yes, but Peyton made sure just to say water for him since he wasn't big on drinking. Both Ry and I wandered to the coolers that were labeled with what was inside. We grabbed syringes of jello shots for us and then grabbed four beers, a wine cooler for Jace and water.
Each of us took the jello shot before settling with our bottled drinks. There was a variety of costumes swarming around us from DIY, super sexy and super scary.
Party Rock started playing and Peyton lit up.
"Let's dance!" He exclaimed, pulling Landon over to the side of the place where bodies were grinding and dancing crazily. The rest of us downed our drinks before following.
We had a blast dancing around with each other, mostly grinding with our partners, of course but still having a grand ole time. I started to sweat and get thirsty so I told Ry I was going to grab water. I maneuvered my way to the water cooler and popped open a bottle and chugged it before grabbing two more.
"Having fun?" Hayden asked as he sidled up next to me. His Mario mustache made him look goofy.
"Yeah! Where's your lady?" I asked.
"She's in the back room smoking a bowl, you're welcome to join her if you want" he told me and I shook my head.
"Nah, I don't like drinking and smoking at the same time. Makes me tired"
"I get it, I'll catch ya a little later. I'm going to play beer pong" he told me before patting me on the shoulder and walking toward another room.
Walking back to my group, I noticed that Dakota was gone. Jace was grinding against Peyton and Ryder was grinding against Landon. A mini war of jealousy waged inside of me. But before I could stomp over like a caveman to pull Ryder back to dancing with me, an arm landed around my shoulders.
"Just chillax, he's having fun. Don't make yourself look like more of an idiot in front of Landon" I turned to see Dakota take a sip of water from a bottle he had.
"Says the king of jealousy" I deadpanned and he shrugged.
"I'm working on it, plus two bottoms don't make a top" he commented, nodding toward Jace and Peyton.
