Chapter 22

After Valentine's day, where Ryder treated me to a romantic dinner and I treated him to a movie he's been wanting to see, I had to go stay at my parent's house. Amber was put on bed rest and the doctor said that the twins could potentially come early at any point in time, so that meant me staying with my parents until the day came.

It's been very hard to be away from Ry. We FaceTime every night before bed, text each other during the day and he visits on the weekends but being able to hold him for only two days of the week sucks.

Luckily I got to see him on his birthday before he went on the week long yacht voyage with the boys like Jace and he had planned a while ago. They wanted to cancel since I couldn't be there but I insisted they have a good time and if something were to happen I'd call them right away.

On March 19th at 10pm I got the call from Corrine that Amber was going into labor and on the way to the hospital. After slightly shaking my mother awake to inform her of the news, she told me her and dad would be right behind me. I then raced to the hospital to meet Amber. When I got there I sent a group text to Ry and the guys to let them know it was finally happening.

Corrine, Amber's mother and I were in the delivery room with her as she screamed and cried of the pain. However, as midnight passed the first twin arrived. Declan Everett Castlerock born at 12:01am March 20th. His middle name is the same as Jace's because Jace is my day one and he means the world to me. Amber was more than happy to honor the suggestion. At 12:06am little miss Audrey Marie Castlerock was born. Her middle name was after Amber's grandmother.

They are the most precious things in the world. The little cooing and even their cries were adorable. I am such a proud father. The grandparents visited with the little peanuts after everyone and everything was cleaned up.

Then Amber and I switched spending time with each twin before laying them down to rest. Amber was so exhausted that she passed out as soon as the babies were asleep.

"The guys are in the waiting room if you wanna visit with them" Corrine whispered as she laid next to Amber on the hospital bed "I'll call you if the twins wake up"

"Thank you" I whispered back. I picked up my phone to see unread texts from all of them saying they would be waiting in the waiting room. Of course Ry called and I felt bad to not have answered but he understood from the texts I'm reading from him. I quickly took a picture of my sleeping angels and scurried out of the room.

I walked to the waiting room and was immediately ambushed with hugs of congratulations.

"Congrats pops!" I heard Dakota say as he slapped my back.

"I'm so happy for you Mattsy!" Jace said as he glumped me like a koala. Damon and Sebastian said a more formal congrats with small one arm hugs and then Ryder wrapped his arms around me.

"How are they?"He asked as we held on to each other. I tightened my arms around him, inhaling his wonderful scent. He squeezed me back and I felt like all was right in the world.

"Amber is knocked out along with the twins" I sighed, nuzzling my face in the crook of his neck. I have an addiction and it happens to be Ryder. I am not ashamed at all. Ever.

Reluctantly, I pulled away to be able to show them the pictures I got of Declan and Audrey.

"They are precious and look exactly like their daddy" Ry smiled at me.

"Yeah they do, don't they?" I beamed. My parents,Jace's mom, who is holding Gen, and Victor came through the front door of the hospital.

"Congratulations papa bear" Chandra said as she passed Genevieve to Sebastian, who happily took her and started to give her an Eskimo kiss while she giggled.
