As the phone rings I debate hanging up multiple times might I add. After the second ring I begin picking at the fuzz on the blanket draped over my lap. On the 4th ring I hear a click. "Hey Maeve sorry Matt and I were having a contest to see who could eat more donuts in 3 minutes. Anyway, what's up?" sighing, I respond. "Hey fogs, I just wanted to call you cause I just checked my inbox and" in the background I can hear Foggy whisper to Matt and Karen to clean up some space in the corner of the office for a new desk. "Franklin Nelson I didn't even tell you they  declined my application yet." I pause realizing what I've said once I hear Foggy's whispered screams. Foggy turns his attention back to his phone and our conversation. "So uh-" Foggy starts, clearing his throat before he continues "they rejected your application?" I chuckle under my breath "Foggy you have to cover the speaker if you don't want me to hear you" On the other end of the call I hear Foggy cursing modern technology under his breath. "Anyway, yes they did. Buuuut I'm trying to look at the positive side of this and think about how I'll be working with my bestest friend in the whole world, Franklin Percy Nelson." He groans at the use of his full name "If you're going to make using my full name a daily thing, then I politely revoke your invitation to work beside us at Nelson and Murdock Attorneys At Law." I laugh again before continuing on "You'd never do that to someone you love so dearly. So Fogs when do I start?" I hear Foggy yell something that I can't quite make out. Seems like he listened to my advice on covering the speaker. Slowly his voice clears up indicating he's removed his hand from his phones speaker. "How about tomorrow? Tonight you and I can have dinner and discuss how we'll go about this and afterwards maybe we can grab drinks with Matt and Karen over at Josie's? How does that sound?" After laughing for a moment at the eagerness in his voice I reply. "Sounds wonderful Foggy. Besides, I do need to talk to you about some ground rules with the whole Murdock situation." I hear shuffling around Foggy. "Ok great i'll see you at 8 bye Maeve" The line clicks dead as I set the phone down on the couch beside me.

After getting up from my place on the undeniably comfortable couch, I take in the state of my apartment for the first time today. Holy shit. I let a live human being walk around my home while it looks like this. I groan knowing I have a day of dusting and scrubbing on my hands and knees ahead of me. Ok It's six now, meaning I have about seven hours until I need to be out running errands. Taking a deep breath, I start towards the kitchen to grab my cleaning supplies from below the sink.

As I clean I leave my windows open since the weather is nice and I like to hear the sounds of the city below. As I go through my apartment attempting to clean every surface, the curtains around my living room windows fill with the sweet autumn air. Finally, after six hours of scrubbing mixed with swearing at my cheap vacuum, I had finished. And would you look at that, I have an hour to spare. I figure I have just enough time to shower and get ready before the errands I have planned. I step in the shower, feeling the hot water rush over my shoulders as I take a deep breath, Inhaling the humid air around me.

Stepping out of the bathroom, I'm hit with a wall of cold air. Apparently in the 30 minutes I spent in the shower the temperature outside had dropped, leaving my apartment cold and loud. Having only 30 minutes to get ready, I walk through my apartment putting together an ensemble fit for the chill in the air. Pulling my long sleeve black shirt over my head I walk towards the window shutting and locking it quickly before stepping over to the one beside it. As I shut the last window my phone rings, grabbing my attention. I take a quick glance at my phone to see if I recognize the number before heading back towards the bathroom to finish getting ready. Hopefully if I get home fast enough I'll be able to do a once over of Hell's Kitchen before Foggy gets off work.

Grabbing my keys and wallet, I step out of my apartment door locking it behind me. I have a few stops to make before I can even think about putting on my suit. Heading down the hallway I smile to Mrs.Taylor, my neighbor down the hall who tends to become a bit nosy if I don't let her know I'm ok every once in a while. I let her know that I'm heading out for a few hours before hurrying down the stairs to escape a 30 minute conversation with her about her cats new food. I make my way through the city to my favorite bakery because I'm running low on a few items in my pantry. I pick up some bread, bagels, and a few donuts for foggy as a thanks for inviting me to work with him and Matt at Nelson and Murdock. As I walk down the street my mind wanders through my plans for when I get home. I should make dinner before going on my rounds so that even if I don't make it back in time for Foggy, dinner will be there and he can serve himself while he waits. I head to my next stop while trying to decide what I'll make Foggy for dinner.
