(Y/n)'s POV
Hope was singing on the back seat as I was driving. I haven't heard anything about Jeff for a week now but I think he went back home without saying anything since he didn't like goodbyes. However Frank had been with us a lot more even when I haven't worked at school. Somehow I feel like I'm free from all the judgement from the school even when I loved to work there. But maybe the next person can be as helpful as I was to them. I just hope that all the students would go alright for them. The thought that they would just be forgotten makes me feel so bad for them.
"Who is that?" Hope said which caught my attention. "Who?" I turn to look outside but suddenly the door opens and I was ripped out of the car. I could hear screaming but I don't know if the scream was mine or Hope's. "Shut the fuck up!" I hear Eric's voice in my ear before something was pressed on my face. It smelled funny as I tried to break free. "Stop that! I'm not going to hurt you!" I hear Eric but his words start to become blur. What was going on? I close my eyes when they feel heavy as I fall unconscious.
My heart felt like it was splitting in two as I feel something move beside me. "W-what?" I ask quietly but my throat is burning. "Mommy! Please get up!" I hear a faint noise next to me which made me turn to look at it. Hope was sitting there with tears in her eyes. It broke my heart to see her like this. "It's okay baby! Mommy is here!" I try to get up but was still feeling weak. "Oh you are awake." I hear deep familiar voice say which made me turn to look at Eric. The look on his face was so cold like it was lacking any emotion. It send shivers down my spine. "Don't you dare harm her!" I snarl at him as I try again to get up. Eric just laughs at my words but the laugh is almost like he was mimicking someone else. It was so creepy. "I'm not going to hurt her. Just you."
His words were terrifying but still it made me feel awful. I turn to look at Hope who was still crying. "Oh baby come here. Let me take care of you." I say to her with a smile on my face. Hope comes to my open arms and lays right next to me. "I'm scared mommy!" She cries to my chest but I shush her. "It's okay baby. Nothing to worry about. You will be just fine." I look around the room to see that we are at the old, abandoned resort. Eric walks over to us but his face was still blank. "I can't believe that you really kept her." He suddenly said which made me almost snarl at him. "You don't know anything. What do you want?" I snap at him as I try to comfort my crying baby. He shrugs and crouches in front of me. "It's either me or you baby."
My eyes widen as I look at him. "No. There must be another way! I can give you all the money I have so you can give it to that bastard. Please! She needs me!" Eric looks at me for a moment before he shakes his head. "No. I... uh... am afraid that he will kill me! I promise that I will be quick. You won't even realize that you are gone." Fear took over my body as I quickly get up from my laying position and back away from him. "No! Please!" I cry out as he takes his butterfly knife and looks at it for a while. "I need this (Y/n)! Think it as a sacrifice for the greater good!" He stands up but before he can do anything else I look at the open window beside me and make a decision.
I quickly get up with Hope in my arms and run to the window. "(Y/n) wait!" I hear him scream at me but I'm at that point already jumping through it. To my horror we are at the second floor which made me turn to my back so Hope wouldn't get too badly hurt. As my back hits the ground I let an agonizing scream. I felt it crack under me which made me terrified but to my joy I can move my legs. Hope was crying but the adrenaline made me stand up and start to run into the woods. It was bad since there was already so much snow but I needed to get away from him. "(Y/n)!" I hear him scream as I get in the cover of the snowy forest. I needed to get out of here as soon as I could. To save myself and Hope.
"Mommy!" Hope cries as I press herself more against me. I did feel the burn in my lungs as I ran deeper and deeper in the forest just wishing that soon we would get to the town. I could see that Eric was nowhere to be seen so it must mean that he was farther away from us. I knew that he knew where we were going since I was leaving the only tracks on the snow that I could see. I just needed to make sure that Hope was going to be okay.
