——One Month Later——
Somewhere in Marlow town,
In the dimly lit room, 8 figures can be seen standing in the shadow with their back straight in front of a sitting figure, as if waiting for orders.
The figure that is responsible to report to professor about the troublesome Old man of the 'Flowing Melody Inn' every month took a step forward before reporting.
—«Professor, I am certainly sure that the suspicion of old man 'Luther Black' going in and out of the town lately with the kid mage named 'William' is because...he's training the kid his technique sir»
—«Hmm? Tsk...*smirk* Well, I think it's time to get some free merits from the higher ups shall we?»
The sitting figure or the professor said in a low tone with a creepy smirk.
Professor has shaggy brown hair and sports a pair of medium-sized, circular eye glasses. He wears a black suit with no tie on, a yellow shirt underneath his coat and closed-toe shoes.
—«All of you, go and get me that girl. That old man is too troublesome to deal with.»
Professor dismissed his men.
Professor Franklin is the head of the only exploration unit of 'The Shadow'. Getting more merits from the higher ups of 'The Shadow' would increase his budget.
Leaning his back on his chair,
—«Just you wait...Hehehaiyayawewewe»
A weird-ass laugh resounded in the dimly lit room.

I roused from my sleep, grunting, feeling a heavy sensation weighing down on my body.
Were they my worries? My burdens? The expectations placed on me? Are these weighing down on me even as I slept?
—«G' morning Will! Wake up!»
I opened my eyes and see that my burdens have taken the form of a lovely young lady very similar in appearance to my friend Alice.
—«Come on sleepyhead! You need to meet grandpa soon! *Will continued sleeping* H-hey! Don't go back to sleep!»
She bounced up and down, still straddled on top of me.
Did she not know how indecent this may look to others? Haa...the innocence of youth.
—«I get it! I'm up, Alice! Please get down from my stomach so I can get up»
I groaned, still half asleep.
—«Hehe~ Will, your hair looks funny. Hey hey, is it true you're going to be staying here for a while? Grandpa told me this morning that you're extending 15 days of staying here! I'm so happy! You're really staying, right? Right?»
Alice exclaimed with a wide smile pasted on her cute face.
How the hell was she so energetic this early in the morning?
Trying to tame my bed hair, I responded,
«Most likely, it seems I'll be bothering you for a bit longer.»
She stabbed my side with her finger,
«Guh-!»
—«Bothering?! You're not bothering me at all! I'm going to get upset if you say that again Hmph!»
