The Truth at Last

Eugeo's Pov
Kazuto let me go, I stared at him "why do you look all blurry and why are you still a child?" I asked, he laughed awkwardly "well.... you probably have a concussion from the fall which is why I'm blurry as for me still being a kid.... um" he went quiet for a moment "y-you can't age on this island" he finally said, I nodded "o-oh ok.... how did you even get here?" I asked, he stayed quiet for a moment "u-um.... I trusted a pirate! A-and um..... he left me here to die but luckily I found a way to survive!" He cheered, I wasn't fully convinced but it's Kazuto why wouldn't I believe him "anyway come on! I want to show you something!" He cheered, I nodded and stood up, he took my hand and happily dragged me off somewhere.

Kirito's Pov
"Wait, wait, wait" Aiko said while we were all walking, I looked at him "what?" I asked "how I know you two aren't both illusions" he said, we all stopped "punch me" I said, he gave a sad face then smiled and punched me in the nose, I held my nose "ouch!" I yelled, he laughed so I punched him in the stomach, he bent over holding his stomach "ow!!" He whined, we both laughed at each other "that was a good punch" I admitted, he nodded "you punched great as well" he responded while still holding his stomach, Renly sighed "you just wanted to punch Kirito didn't you?" He asked, Aiko nodded "yep" I rolled my eyes "come on we have to find Eugeo" I kept walking, Renly gave me a sympathetic look, then he looked at Aiko "did you find out how Kirito got that tattoo?" He asked, Aiko nodded "don't worry he didn't kill a night elf, I'll explain later" he whispered. Eugeo, please be ok.

Eugeo's Pov
Kazuto had lead me into a cave, I couldn't see it very clearly because of the concussion but I saw a bright light, we stopped near the light "what's that?" I asked pointing at the light, Kazuto squeezed my hand "you cam see it?" He asked, I nodded, a little bit confused, he giggled and it almost sounded evil, he lead me towards the light "here put your hand on it, it will glow and show really pretty colours" he cheered, I looked at him "is this one of your old pranks? Because I'm not as gullible as I used to be Kazuto" I asked, he shook his head "nope, I just wanted to show you the pretty colours see" he touched the light and I could sort of see that it was a glowing stone on a small pillar, he held his hand there for a moment and it glowed, like he said, pretty colours (shapes and colours and the lights of which I've never seen) he took his hand away "see? Now you touch it and you need to keep your hand there for a moment" he said clearly, I nodded "oh ok...." I reached my hand out to it.

Kirito's Pov
We finally made it to where we saw Eugeo fall, I looked around but Eugeo was nowhere to be seen "he was here, I know he landed here" I mumbled, Renly went over to a nearby tree, he touched it and his eyes glowed green for a moment "he was here.... but we was lead away by an illusion of a little boy.... black hair..... but the rest of him is quite blurry" Renly spoke, can tree elves see the memory of plants? That's useful, he took his hand away from the tree "a little boy with black hair?" Aiko looked at me, I looked back at him "nevermind let's go get him, which way did he go?" I asked looking at Renly again, he pointed in the same direction as a cave "let's go" we all went inside.

Eugeo's Pov
I walked towards the glowing stone and gently placed my hand on it, when I did there was sudden shock through my arm, I tried to pull my arm away but I couldn't "Eugeo? What's wrong?" Kazuto asked, the pain in my arm spread into my entire body, I screamed in pain "Eugeo?! What's happening to you?" Kazuto asked, he sounded scared, I couldn't see the light appearing in my veins and I started to vomit out this black liquid, I fell onto my knees with my hand still attached to the rock, the moment I was able to move it I fainted with my head landing on the ground "Eugeo?" I heard Kazuto say before I couldn't hear anything.

Kirito's Pov
I heard a scream from inside the cave, all three of us jumped, the scream sounded so painful, I realised who it was "Eugeo!" I began running through the cave, Renly and Aiko followed me, the screaming stopped and I instantly thought the worst, we eventually got to a small part in the cave with a small pillar in the middle and a grey crystal on it, I looked around and noticed Eugeo laying on the floor with his head rested on a woman's knees, I scanned her appearance, she had long light purple hair and purple eyes, she wore a black cloak and I couldn't see if she was wearing anything else, she looked up at Aiko, Renly and I "shh.... he's sleeping" she whispered, I grabbed my sword "let him go" I demanded, the woman simply giggled "I'm not holding him hostage..... and I haven't done anything to him" she explained, Renly stared at the stone, he seemed a but shocked "deep down he knows it's you....." I looked back at the woman a bit shocked "w-what do you mean by that?" I asked, she smiled down at Eugeo "he's always known it was you Kazuto..... but something in his head is preventing him from actually figuring it out..." she answered, I was confused "that doesn't make sense." Aiko said, the woman sighed "basically there is a part of him knows that Kirito is Kazuto but that part of him is being pushed away, so he knows but he doesn't" she explained, Renly looked very confused, he doesn't know my real name that's probably why. I looked down at Eugeo, he looked a bit distressed, I pointed my sword at the woman "get away from him" I demanded, she stroked his hair gently, I glared at her as she did so "he's the first to ever volunteer you know?" She snapped me out of my thoughts, wait she knows that he volunteered to go on this quest? Wait.... "your the Eclipse.... aren't you?" Renly asked, she smiled "you figured it out.... you are quite smart Renly" when did she learn his name? "You should know this legend Renly..... the thing that will be my doom" she spoke again, I looked at Renly, he was staring at Eugeo "the first person to volunteer has a pure heart" I looked back at the woman who had said that "and a pure heart can wield the power of light...." I heard Renly say quietly, I was confused, Aiko looked at Renly "y-you don't mean...." he stuttered, Renly got out his bow and aimed it at the woman "if you are planning on killing him before he can learn to use it, I'll just kill you myself, here and now!" He yelled, she chuckled "now where would be the fun in that, he's still weak.... and I'm no monster, I won't kill him while he's so defenceless" she replied. The woman yawned "anyway, I'm tired.... I think I'll be off now" she clicked her fingers and disappeared, Eugeo's head rested on the ground again, I noticed a little boy appear, he looked all blurry and he had black hair, I put my sword away "hello...." he smiled cheekily, I glared at the illusion "you can't trick me into thinking that you are Kazuto" I told the boy, he looked down sadly "but I am Kazuto" he mumbled, I smirked "no.... I'm Kazuto.... Kazuto Kirigaya from Rulid Village, Eugeo's childhood bestfriend" I explained, the illusion faded for just a moment, we all looked at Eugeo as he sat up, holding his head "Kazuto what-" he noticed Aiko, Renly and I "h-hey!" He smiled and slowly stood up, he walked over to me, he then turned and pointed at the illusion "you remember when I told you about my friend?" He asked, I stared at him shocked "e-Eugeo-" "well there he is, meet Kazuto, I know he looks young" "Eugeo-" "but you can't age on this island-" "Eugeo!" I grabbed his shoulder and made him look at me "that's not Kazuto!" I yelled, now he was shocked "w-what do you mean?" He moved away from be and towards the illusion of me, 'Kazuto' held onto Eugeo's arm "don't believe him! He's a meany!" Kazuto yelled, I glared at him "Kirito i-if you think that I won't be going on this adventure amymore now that I've found Kazuto, you're wrong I need to save Rulid-" "No Eugeo, I'm being serious, this island, it's filled with pixies they make illusions" tears filled Eugeo's eyes "liar...." he mumbled, Aiko put his hand on my shoulder "listen to Kirito, he's telling the truth" he reassured Eugeo, the blonde shook his head "you don't know Kazuto...." he mumbled, I looked down "y-you don't know what you're talking about!" He yelled "you need to tell him" a voice in my head whispered, Aiko let my shoulder go "Eugeo please! Along with the illusions they put you under a spell, it will get you to believe that they truly are what or who they say they are!" He explained, Eugeo kept shaking his head "no you don't know what you're talking about!" He yelled again. I looked up at him "they might not know Kazuto but I do!" I yelled, all three of the boys looked at me shocked, I walked towards Eugeo slowly "the first book he got you on sailing was called 'Sails and Ropes' you two always met under the big jacaranda tree outside your house" Eugeo looked absolutely shocked "I never told you any of that" he whispered, I nodded "I know how you got that scar on your wrist" I leaned in to whisper in his ear while I held onto his arms "after you danced with him.... you two were separated for weeks.... for you weeks of torture, a priest visited you everyday and one day he decided to cut a cross into your wrist and hope that all the sinful blood would poor out and only leave what is holy...." I whispered, he just listened, I felt bad for reminding him of that, he took in a deep breath as I my head away from him but still held his arms, he stared at me, trying to figure me out "how do you know all of this?" He asked, I moved arm hands from his arms and held both of his hands "I don't just know Kazuto....." I hesitated, come on Eugeo, you have to do this to save him "I- I am....." now tears were appearing in my eyes, what if he gets so angry at me that he pushes me away? what if he hates me? All the worst case scenarios filled my head, I just decided to blurt it out before I decided not to tell him "I am Kazuto Kirigaya...." I finally said, I closed my eyes, expecting Eugeo to yell at me but it was just completely quiet, I opened my eyes again and noticed that Eugeo was shocked but.... he was smiling slightly "k-Kazuto?" He asked, I smiled and nodded as the small tears trickled down my face, he hugged me, I noticed that the pixies started to change, now the boys face looked clearer, he looked like me. I hugged Eugeo back as he cried into my shoulder "it's you! It's really..... you...." he suddenly fainted in my arms, I was shocked, again?! He just woke up! I carefully placed him on the ground "Eugeo?! Eugeo?!" I yelled, he didn't respond, I looked over at Aiko and Renly, the green haired elf thought for a moment "that happens sometimes.... when a memory spell is broken" Aiko mumbled, Renly nodded "your right, his eyes went fully blue for a moment" he agreed, I was confused "a memory spell?" I whispered "come on, we have to get put of here" Renly reminded me, I lifted Eugeo off the ground and carried him put of the cave.
