"And would like mind telling me where have you learned these moves?" A grey-haired man asked a young child who was busy shuffling cookies down her throat, the man noting that he may need to bring more cookies for the child the next time they meet.
"S-Signal Academy... My uncle taught me!" The girl said, somehow smiling under the crumbs that littered her face. The man noted once more how the girl looked like a chipmunk.
"So I've noticed... And what brings you here?" Setting a cup of coffee at the side of the table, the man sat down.
"I... I want to become a Huntress!"
"You want to slay monsters?" He corrected the young girl, who at first stopped to think, only to slowly nod at the correction.
"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon!" The girl began talking faster and faster with her enthusiasm growing, "You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My parent always taught us to help others, so I thought, Hey, I might as well make a career out of it! I mean the police are alright... but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know!" The girl giggled as the man nodded, unfazed by her infectious optimism.
"And... Do you know who I am?" The man finally asked, already knowing everything else the conversation would have in store for him...

The two decided to rent a tavern room for them to stay at, for the time being, trying to find the next thing to do now that they've reached their destination. As Yelena freshened up in the bathroom, Patriot began removing plates of his armour, exposing the many wounds that even his regenerative ability wouldn't repair.
Yelena herself stood silent at the entrance to the bathroom, in front of her was a tub, unknowing of what to do. Experimenting with the different switches, she dipped her hand into the tub, checking at the temperature. For all her life she always felt cold, and, apart from the few seconds she had with the hooded man, as well as her new life here in Remnant, she had never felt hot at all. Heck, she didn't feel the heat just yet, as most of the time on their way to Beacon, it was a nice sunny breeze.
"Is this... hot?" She thought as she turned the red valve all the way, seeing steam coming out of the water, she dipped her hand in it, and immediately liked the sensation of heat. She cooled it with her arts to a more hospitable temperature before dipping in, but, it was still hot, her first time.
Outside, Patriot looked at his body, with only his pants on him, he examined his body much more detailed this time. Everything that he lost to the infection was back, his skin, his touch, his feelings. He was overjoyed with the revelation that he would never have to suffer from it ever again, yet... He felt empty.
Thinking back to it now... He closed his eyes as he sat on the floor, leaning on the bed frame.
"Grrovae'zzeal... Do I now have to live with this?" He thought to himself more and more about it, about why and how had he been transported, and could his son have to? Could all the dead he has slaughtered, evil or innocent, be with him in this new world he happened upon on? What would his wife, his son, be thinking about him now?
He let his mind drift as he soon fell into a slumber, the giant now a statue, unmoving...
Finishing up, Yelena looked at herself in the mirror. For most of her life, she lived in the wilds of the icy wastes and taking a bath while marching with her father's guerrilla strike force was rather uncommon. Oftentimes, rivers or lakes were too inhospitable for anyone but her to wash in, and she did not want to stop them from their eternal march. But now...
Her mind drifted off but was snapped out from the trance as she heard a knock on the door. Getting her clothes back on her, she made it a note now to buy some clothes for the two of them, as walking in their battle garment seemed too attractive.
Walking up towards the door, Yelena turned, seeing her father asleep and not wanting to disturb his first instance of peace in a while, she slowly opened the door, immediately being greeted by a blonde woman with glasses. She quickly closed the door as the two began to converse outside the room.
"Miss Yelena I presume?" The blonde woman started, with the white rabbit immediately alarmed by her name, the blonde woman quickly calmed her down.
"It is ok, I am not here to hurt you, or have anything of malice to create for you and your partn-"
"Father-"
"-Father. Someone would like a word with you downstairs." The woman bowed, with Yelena thinking about what to do next, she followed the woman to the ground floor, where they booked a room in, the two turned a few corners until they were at the inn's restaurant.
It was also her first time seeing such cuisines on peoples' plates, some were simple, like grilled chicken or salmon, while others were... indescribably complex, with toppings she has never seen before as well as ingredients she has never seen. Yet, as they past the main dining room, the two found themselves in one of the private rooms the restaurant had, and as the blonde woman opened the sliding door, Yelena could only see a single man waiting inside, composed, well-mannered...
"Please, sit down, miss Yelena." The man said, with a chair in front of him and a table separating both him and the empty chair, Yelena kept her eyes stuck onto both man and woman, then she scanned the area, it was a simple room with nowhere to hide, so it was just the three of them. Yet, she felt, uncomfortable about the whole thing.
"It is ok, I just want to talk..." The man reminded her of the hooded figure that stayed behind on her last moments on Terra, there was something familiar about the man that she complied to his plea. As the blonde-haired woman now stood beside the man, they all looked at each other in silence as Yelena didn't know how to start.
"Umm, is there a problem? Mr...."
"Ozpin, You can call me Ozpin." The man corrected her. "And yes, Ms Yelena, there is a bit of a problem here."
The man brought up a crystal tablet which Yelena heard was a scroll by some of the people she had talked to for information about this world, and she saw her fight against the bank robbers, and what happened to them afterwards.
"Although it was concluded that this was not 5 instances of murder and torture, if the public were to hear about this, the situation going on for you and your..."
"Father."
"Yes, your father, would worsen." He explained, with Yelena thinking about it, she looked back at the man.
"What about it? I was clearly just doing it in self-defence..." She said shrugging.
"That would have been the case, but... Investigators have found that the guns were fake." Ozpin explained, "And witnesses clearly heard you not caring about the guns being fake. This isn't just a matter where I can pat you at your back and slap your wrist, you can face charges of the overuse of your semblance..." He finished off, yet, as he looked at the footage over and over again, his mind changed.
"Then again... How did you train your semblance to be powerful enough to imitate a truckload's worth of ice dust?" Hearing the two terms, she once more thanked her father's idea of asking around people about the general topics of the world before they arrived at the city.
"My Father... He said that I would always need my semblance in order to do anything noteworthy in the world." She explained.
"Noteworthy? Would you like to follow that dream?" Ozpin asked, surprising the white rabbit as she leaned on her chair, thinking.
"I am the headmaster of Beacon Academy, would you like to come to my school?"
~~~Author's Notes~~~
Now that you think about it, it's pretty weird how the first episode jump cut the interview of Ozpin and Ruby all the way towards the entrance of Beacon Academy... Like, surely, that interview to the first days of Beacon was months apart, and she'd have to apply, take a written test, pay for the entrance fee, etc. Look, I'm just trying to be real here. I have no quarrels with Volumes 1-3 as they are for me was when RWBY peaked.
