Hey, everybody! Jack of Knaves here, welcoming you all to my very first Pokèmon story, the first story in what I hope to eventually become a full-fledged series, as well as my very first one-shot! You see, with the official release of Pokèmon Legends: Arceus, I thought it would be a fun idea to have Lucas and Dawn, our protagonists from Pokèmon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, learn a thing or two about the Hisui Region that would eventually become Sinnoh, and what better way to do that than having one of them uncover the tomb of one of the Legends protagonists? Well, enough of me babbling, let's get this show on the road!

Oh, and in case it wasn't clear, Rei is the English canon name for the male Trainer in Pokèmon Legends: Arceus.

Snowpoint Temple-Bottom Floor

Lucas let out a sigh of relief when his Ultra Ball finally stopped moving. He may be the new reigning champion of the Sinnoh League, but still, that battle with Regigigas was something else. In retrospect, however, he probably should have known what he'd gotten himself into when he'd had to go on a wild goose chase to find and capture Regice, Registeel, and Regirock, three mysterious Pokèmon supposedly native to the Hoenn Region, just to awaken Regigigas from its slumber, never mind the fact that it seemed to hit like a truck, despite having a bit of a slow start with its attacks.

Although, to be fair, the Pokèdex did say that it was capable of hauling continents with ropes, so I guess it makes sense why such a superstrong, super powerful Pokèmon would have a slow start to its attacks, thought Lucas as he made his way over to the Ultra Ball and picked it up, before the device and newly encapsulated Regigigas were teleported into a PC Box.

All the same, it wasn't anything Anubis, his Lucario and his son that had evolved from the Riolu that had hatched out of the egg that Riley had given to him, couldn't handle, given Regigigas was very much a Normal-Type Pokèmon and was therefore weak against Fighting-Type attacks. Either way, it was still a hell of a struggle, as despite Regigigas being weak against Fighting-Types, it still took damage like a champion, clearly capable of taking as much as he could give.

But, all the same, Lucas had managed to capture it, and at the end of the day, that was what counted.

Lucas turned on his heel to begin making his way out of the temple again, only to see something that was admittedly quite a surprise.

There was a big, gaping hole in the wall that had no doubt been created by a stray Hyper Beam attack, courtesy of Regigigas. And from the looks of things, there actually seemed to be something on the other side of that hole as well.

Hmm... how curious, thought Lucas as he made his way over to the hole and entered it, finding himself to have stumbled upon what appeared to be a tomb of some kind, with a large stone marker, a stone casket, and what looked like a very old notebook, a set of what Lucas could only assume were a set of prototype Pokèballs, and a small chest of some kind.

Lucas approached the stone marker, but, much to his dismay, found that he couldn't read the arcane script that was engraved on the tablet, leaving him with no answers.

Bending down, Lucas opened the small chest to find that there was only a strange flute of some kind held within. Frowning, Lucas thought about what to do in regards to his discovery.

I guess I could give Dawn and Cynthia a call, see if they know anything, maybe see if Dawn came across anything like this while studying with the professor. Plus, Cynthia seems to know an awful lot about the ancient myths of Sinnoh thanks to her grandmother. Maybe she knows something about these notebooks and this flute, thought Lucas.
